Objecting to disabled bay outside my house

  • Did the neighbour opposite get permission for the dropped kerb?  Would they be able to turn out with a disabled bay there?
I sympathise as I live on a road with twice as many homes as parking spaces - but disabled get priority (6.6m for a single bay according to google) and after that it is a free for all.  It sounds as though your street would actually have the most parking if everyone sacrificed their gardens and there was no on street parking, but that would cost and need everyone on board.
Yes that would be ideal but I know my next door neighbour would never be on board with sacrificing they’re garden, 2 doors down are getting a drive next year though.
The neighbour told me they had permission from the landlord for a drive but due to cost wouldn’t be getting one so gone for the bay outside mine instead.

Might seem hard hearted but could you ask for the handicapped spot to be in front of their property and get their permission revoked??

To be fair if they could have it outside theirs they would but it’s only possible to park on one side of the road and as there’s already a huge disabled bay next door to me to the left then my side of the road it has to be, I don’t think they’ve actually requested that spot(the house is more across my right hand neighbours house) I think the council have decided putting them both next to each other would make the parking easier.  Not for me of course as I’ll have both bays
I will point out 99% of the time they always have a space and it has to be a certain space but if the house further down don’t have a space at a weekend for their 3rd vehicle they will park there.
