MOT due on Wednesday 15 Dec - driver side mirror casing knocked off & broken

You just need to cover the back so no sharp bits are exposed.
As long as the tester can see to the rear of the car you will pass.
From memory you only need a drivers side mirror. Near side and rear view are not needed.
Like tail lights.
My Vectra had 4, 2 on the rear wings and 2 on the tailgate.
The tail gate ones burnt out but as the 2 on the wings worked it passed.1 -

A manual mirror has a handle inside the car to physically move the mirror.
If you are pressing a switch and it moves then it must be electric (and therefore needs to be kept dry).
Is this the sort of thing you want?

Make sure you put the reg in to get the right one but it Seems possible to get it next day delivery.
my 1998 Corsa has a handle inside the car which physically moves the mirror.Thank you for taking the time and trouble to answer my question. My 1997 Fiesta had a knob/handle on the inside of the window where the mirror connected and you had to twiddle it to adjust the mirror. There was one on the driver side and one on the passenger side. The Yaris just has one little switch unit with a R & L toggle plus up, down, left and right.I used your link for ultimatestyling.co.uk, input my registration and it found a mirror (electric) for £31.91. Best price of all the ones I have seen and the description of the mirror features match mine completely. Most sites I used asked me to pick manual or electric and some wanted the VIN to ID the right mirror even though I supplied the registration number. Thanks again for your help.

So that is an electrically adjustable wing mirror.
However, if you have to fold the mirrors in manually, then they are not "power-fold" (or whichever terminology Toyota coin for that feature).
I hope that helps. Now identified as electric by lisyloo and Lisy also provided a link to a supplier who offers 1 day delivery: so panic over. I thought electric was folding and all singing/dancing. I was surprised there were no manual wing mirrors on sites they were all electric. Manual ones must be as rare as hens teeth now.Thank you for your input.

Is It Illegal to Drive Without a Wing Mirror? Or with a Damaged Wing Mirror?
According to UK law, all cars must have at least two mirrors that offer an adequate view of the rear of the vehicle. One of the operational mirrors has to be the offside rear view mirror. That’s the one that’s attached to the driver’s door. If that gets damaged, then it’s illegal for you to drive your car. But if the nearside wing mirror gets damaged – the one that’s attached to the passenger door – then so long as your other two mirrors are intact, you can legally drive.

My husband's car's wing mirror (passenger side I think) has some damage (I'm not 100% on whether the indicator light on the back / side of it still works) but the mirror itself is still usable, and these are ones that can be adjusted electrically but do not fold in automatically. He got an advisory for it on the last MOT.
ETA - I'd call the MOT centre as suggested by someone else previously & see what they say.0 -
I now have a mirror cover and will ask the garage to fit it before they start the MOT.Later:I was able to fit the cover and my car passed the MOT with flying colours,3
