I really don’t think there’s many companies out there expecting this of their employees. If they do find another job.happyc84 said:Unfortunately the pressure put on staff to work an extra 10 to 20% unpaid o/t every week in the UK is a ticking health time bomb.
Hopefully as more employees kick back we can have a more enlightened business model.
If I was a salaried employee earning a reasonable wage I would expect to have to stay behind, unpaid, on the odd occasion to get the job done. Where it starts to slip into “taking the !!!!!!” territory is when you’re expected to work extra unpaid hours every week just because. Unless the pay was sufficient I was effectively being paid for it anyway I’d be looking for another job, even more so if it was the sort of company where management were raking it in.0
