Nice to hear from you 😼bob_a_builder said:Off - topic
Spotted - Timewind - Klaus Schultz - used to have that as an LP the first time round when vinyl was all there was
I still have my klaus Schulz and tangerine dream albums from 70s-80’s .
The cd remasters of k s are done really well . As for the tangerine dream stuff the 2 box sets plus the cheap and cheerful virgin box sets are great also .
Must remind myself to hide the manowar albums 😼😬0 -
TV turns on when input applied to HDMI - good. TV remote works to change input - good. TV won't turn off when OFF button pressed on TV remote - shonky IR receiver on telly?
Does the 'TV' button on the Humax remote function as a TV power on/off?1 -
I have a feeling it may be IR receiver alsoflaneurs_lobster said:TV turns on when input applied to HDMI - good. TV remote works to change input - good. TV won't turn off when OFF button pressed on TV remote - shonky IR receiver on telly?
Does the 'TV' button on the Humax remote function as a TV power on/off?
Or Toshiba IR sensor at front ( I think that’s what it’s called )
As for the humax, it won’t do anything on the tv . I did use it for a short period to control my Apple TV Box . Hats 🎩 off to Apple for allowing me to use the onkyo and humax controls to control the Apple TV ,0 -
You can get a brand new CT 8022 for less than a tenner on eBay and that includes postage.
It doesn't have the Toshiba brand on it but it's worth a try at that price.

I have just had a brainwave.
I have a Toshiba 19” of more or less the same model in my wardrobe .
You’ve just made me want to track down the remote from that and try it on my bigger TV
Will do this over weekend and report back 😼👍0 -
If it doesn't switch off consistently with any of the remotes, you can eliminate a problem with the remote as being the cause. Try wiping the sensor on the TV with a wipe used for spectacle cleaning as other cleaning substances may have caused a build up of crud (technical term) on the sensor.

"Vortex Box (Audio Files in FLAC format. like mp3 but uncompressed and higher quality)
FLAC files are not uncompressed,
FLAC is an acronym for Free Lossless Audio Codec, i.e. the original files are compressed using an algorithm that retains all the original file information but in a smaller file size normally 40 to 50% smaller than the original music file.
The FLAC file retains all the information of the original file and can be played at the original quality level and also be decompressed to give a perfect reproduction of the original file, which you cannot do with mp3 files.

Thank you SurferDan, I intended to write less compressed.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -

I have changed batteries and wiped clean Toshiba remote but reluctant to open it up .
Thanks for looking , and appreciate any advice givenHi,here's a wee VIDEO, how to clean remote, worth a try.0 -
Perhaps better to describe FLAC as "losslessly compressed"? Just like zip files and their later developments.0
