I have a vague recollection in my head of a handheld, non-powered washer brush thing but I cannot at all recall what it might be, what it was for, or whether it might be suitable or not. It's not something I've seen or used in person but I'll come back if I ever remember what it was!Something like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mud-Daddy-99000DS1GREEN-Portable-Washing/dp/B074W3F6BJ?that'll learn me!

Agree covering the wheels outside likely to be impractical, but if you have carpets at home, would indoor covers wirk? I dint know how you'd put them on mind you ...

Thank you everyone.
I am a complicated puzzle.
I don't have the strength / stamina to pump up a pressure hand sprayer sadly.
Towel on floor.. they crumple up with tyres and have a low threshold door that means there is no space for doormat.. have a mat in kitchen by radiator to dry chair on.
Shower caps were suggested by one of my PA / carers yesterday for at home as she used them on kids pram.. I and chair are considerably heavier but going to look. Not sure how I'd get them on and only larger wheels not casters.
Path outside can't be made wider to allow turning to clean on Matt as it's a raised ramp with handrails either side.
We are starting to change flooring.. unfortunately last year before accepting I needed chair in house more we recarpetted front room with good thick underlay ..it was to make falling more cushioned.. I think in time that will have to change.
Have stripped floorboards in one room as most affordable option.. bedroom next.. but takes a while as low income and any seen as ' excess' is taken to go towards care costs.
What I need is a swimming pool style shallow footbath and some way to brush.
I am going to ask to speak with an OT at council.. I need some advice widening one doorway in home and hope they have some ideas for wheels.
So frustrating... I wish there were an instruction manual for everything you need to know when becoming disabled long term sick..thought I'd got it fairly sorted but nope new challenges.
Thank you everyone for ideas..I will look at them all again.

I don't know how the pressure sprayers work; maybe worth seeing if it's possible for someone to fill it and pump it up beforehand (whenever you have someone around; I don't know, you say 'we' - beginning of the day in case you want to go out perhaps?) so it's ready to use when you get back.
If there is no suitable solution available, https://www.remap.org.uk/ may be able to help.1 -

Like many people, I change into slippers when I get in, but my 'muddy' shoes live on a mat by the back door. I rarely clean them between walks. This means that when I put them on again, I often 'scatter' dried mud around the mat. Tough. I don't prepare food on the floor, and I don't eat off the floor. A bit of mud won't hurt.
Once dry, how far does the muck from the wheels travel?
I guess I will have to revise this policy if I am ever presented with grandchildren.
If you're talking about exceeding the savings limit, I didn't think this kind of expenditure would be seen as unreasonable.Cyclamen said:takes a while as low income and any seen as ' excess' is taken to go towards care costs.
Lovely image, but keeping the pool clean would bring its own challenges.Cyclamen said:What I need is a swimming pool style shallow footbath and some way to brush.

This is the sort of mat I was thinking about over carpet in a key places.Another idea would be to talk to this charity and see if they can build something.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Hello Sorry for delay.. hit a bumpy patch health wise.
Spoonieturtle.. sorry yes i should have been clearer as it looks like i am being dishonest.. i live with my husband who is also disabled.. so when i/we come home it can be too much for him to clean wheels.. i also have a team of PA's for a few hours 6 days.. just not always when i want to use char outside
ramp joins to pavement.. with steep grass lawn to sides
I ahd been thinking about remap.. but also wanted to make sure i wanst missing anything obvious and didnt want to bother them.

Savvy sue.. yes i am trying to get ehad round that... ideally i want to get straight to bed.. but wet mud is slippy... husband has mobility needs.. also cringe at what the 'mud' is made from. (dogs)
savings limit.. sadly unlikely to exceed the limit.. what mean is that I have to pay a weekly contribution towards my care costs from our household income.. that is made up of esa, pip etc and topped up with income support as government says we need it to live.. but the council take about 80% of income support rate back as a contribution... it was double that before i applied for some disabled expenses... so accruing savings is a challenge..

oh crumbs anoter vote for remap.. i thik ou are both right.. its just hard asking for help when not anonymous.
the grand plan is to g to floorboards in bedroom in new year..cousin has offered to come and sand /seal.. so guess will just be messy.. so frustrating.

Thanks Spoonieturtle.
left chair to dry then used it on carpet and it left visible bits of mud in my wake... sigh ... think we need dragons den.
I am not holding up as well as i had hoped... need to ask for help and quite a lot of it
* widening bedroom door as taking a lot of work, jolting and brain energy t get chair in.. it is narrow.. but i had hoped i would get used to it.. chair is amazing but seems to bring a lot of extra problems to solve.. its going to need support beams so think i wil be looking at a DFG (disabled facilities grant)
* i am going to talk to remap next year but am also going to ask around neighbours/friends to see if i could please look at borrow one of those battery pressure washers mentioned above.. would like t try befre spening that much money.
* i am currently trying to get a care review to see if i can get a few more hours for my tea,
very much feel i am sat here with a begging bowl..
