Ramouth said:If they look clean and you just want to freshen up you could just sprinkle with bicarbonate of soda, leave overnight, then vacuum well. Works wonders for neutralising smells - even things like dog or strong perfume. No moisture so no need to worry about damp.
another way is if you have a fave washing powder, mix a spoon into the bicarb and you have scented bicarb .

We have some small local firms who work from a machine that takes up the back of a large van.
One does a dry in an hour clean because the suction on these is strong.
While it's not moneysaving it's not that expensive and you get the professional clean that good rental properties get.
Might be worth looking into.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

All the diy rug doctor type of thing is a complete waste of money for a excessive amount of time needed to do the worst job possible .
Its a con waiting for a mug ,the shampoo is way overpriced as well !
The issue here is client anxiety worrying about everything they shouldnt focus on and not wanting to spend money on doing it right the first time.
The post earlier focusing on drying is 100% correct .
Get it done via a "known recommended professional" that way you actually clean the carpets which is the whole point your paying to have it done .
A micky mouse diy con isnt going to clean dirty carpets and will take more time than you can imagine to achieve little to nothing2
