Your union rep doesn't sound much use. (Not sure if that surprises me or merely disappoints me). I wouldn't necessarily expect them to do all the work for you, but I'd expect them to explain more clearly what you need to find out, how you find it out, who you ask, and to give you guidance as to how to put together an argument to get your post re-evaluated.
Yours sounds like it might be a relatively large trust if it has multiple sites/hospitals. Could you ask your rep if there is another rep from your union in the trust who is involved in or has more experience of job-matching? Or, as has already been suggested, try to speak to a rep from another union who has that experience?0 -

Not good mate
FOI request shows no band 5 position ever existed within the trust, only band 6 posts of which there are two current at the other site. It means they are creating a post at a banding that never existing at band 5 when they jd title and position already exist at another site at band 6?!
They have now promoted 2 members of staff abicmve and below me to new posts / bands in the line with the other site.
Now to add insult to injury, the trust are recruiting and new member if staff (trainee level) while still not addressing my promotion/rebanding .
It's a disgrace but I feel every meeting is under duress and don't know where to turn to. I hate going above line managers but with this type of duress and inequality, I feel I'll have to go down swinging......0 -

Timing just isn't ideal as I have my wedding in a few weeks but I fear this will have to take prescenedant..... gonna he a tough fight when fighting my manager and line manager of 5 years0 -
I suggested in my first reply you get hold of the matched job report (that would be the report from the matching panel) and compare the one for your post and the band 6, compare and contrast them. If you are unable to locate them either make yourself known to the staff-side chair on the panel or ask your steward to get them. I suspect your focusing on the wrong place with FOI disclosures (not saying they are not useful but perhaps one for the future).

My job at the banding they are suggesting doesn't even exist 😒
They are literally creating the same job at a lesser band with no reasoning or logic.
I won't be able to compare / contrast until the post officials goes out or the jd is created right as the matching panel won't have anything to compare.
Surely I two band 6 staff already have band 6 jd's and are full time employed they would stop the creation of a band 5 post all together.0 -
Looks like your going to need to up the ante on this if your going to have any hope of a positive outcome.
