Carpet Laid showing foot prints

Just had carpet laid and to my horror it shows shading marks left by humans and animals.
It is so bad it even shows the track marks from the soles of trainers
At the time of purchase I particularly asked for carpet that didn't even show hoover lines as I despise them so much
It has been laid up my stairs and across my landing It is truly so awful
Is there anything I can do So upset

Is there anything I can do?
You can tell us the name and colour of the carpet and what it is made from, also what underlay you chose because that will make a difference.
I assume since this property is important to you that you walked up and down on a sample in the shop and it was OK then?1 -
Most carpets will show shading Mark's, especially deep pile carpets. You would probably be best looking at something like a Berber carpet if you want to avoid this. Did you see or receive a sample of the carpet before you purchased it?2

Unless you can prove that you told the sales person that the carpet must not show any marks I very much doubt you can do anything about it. Any carpet with a pile is liable to show marks from people walking in it if you look hard enough, but it will be far more obvious on a plain carpet, which I suspect this is.

Its Carpetright Jupitor
Colour Sky100 % polypropylene I have the sample it doesn't seem quite the same
I was told I didn't need a new underlay when they measures up However new was laid when they they laid carpet so I don't know what it is
I paid for purchase over phone does that make any difference
Will try and upload photos0 -
hoping this comes through

If you've not got the same product as the sample you ordered from then the company need to address that. You would need to contact them in the first instance and point out the difference.0

A carpet of that type and colour will always show some marks - especially hoover marks, but that does seem to show rather a lot. Probably because it's new and it'll probably settle down.
We have a similar colour carpet in our lounge and it *still* shows hoover marks when it's been vacced - it was there when we moved in 7 years ago, so it's older than that.0 -
As you walk on it the pile gets flattened to a different direction from the rest of the carpet so you lose the sheen.
When you vacuum the pile will rise agin to its original position.

It reallt depends on the type of carpet, my mum laid a really thick carpet a few years back and its lovely to walk upon, no shoes household also keeps carpet fresh and lasting much longer

I have to agree it looks awful. We have a plain carpet and it does show footprints but not to anything like that extent. What have you done to the risers on the stairs to cause them to look like that when they don't get any wear? How long is the pile on the carpet?
