However the link takes me to Eon's website rather than Eon Next. I'm a little confused as I thought that all of Eon's customers are migrating/have migrated onto the Eon Next platform customer platform. It stipulates that it is only available to customers of Eon rather than Eon Next. Any thoughts?0 -
As an ex-Symbio customer, I set up a DD on EON.Next. I then emailed them and asked them to make sure I was on the DD tariff. It was done quite quickly. I have also provided a reading, and the debit balance on my account exactly matches my calculated figure. The PDF bill has not been generated yet.1

I got my tariff sorted out over the phone as they'd not set it at the DD level - took around 7-8 minutes. My SMETS1 meter which showed the pay-on-receipt tariff has also been updated and correctly shows the DD tariff (both kwh and standing charge)
The money transferred from SYMBIO has been correctly credited (and I'm afraid already used up). I set my own DD level based on my own estimate rather than whatever EoN might have guessed and, although I'm not ever so happy with the cost, I've no complaints about how the transfer has been carried out.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Mr_K said:I just sent them an email and they replied almost immediately putting me on the DD tariff. They also revised my DD and put it up by £40 ! Maybe I was too optimistic when I set it....Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

I would be wary of doing any manual switches. They said in an email they sent me and presumably other ex Igloo customers that they've been unable to move the DDs across from Igloo and that "If you set up a Direct Debit with us by 3 December 2021, we'll backdate your prices to the lower Direct Debit ones from 3 October 2021". I set one up late Nov, and it was taken in Nov, so I should get the lower DD prices from 3 Oct. If you manually switch that might cause problems, eg the new price might be from when you switch and not from 3 Oct.On my account, they've not produced a bill yet but they have deducted charges for gas and electric based on readings I gave them a week ago, and the charges are clearly based on the higher non-DD prices. But I'll wait till I get the actual bill before complaining. Or even the next one, as they might need time to sort it out, I have the proof that they promised the DD prices from 3 Oct and that I set up a DD before their deadline, so confident I'll get the DD prices from 3 Oct but won't go wading in complaining for a while yet...it should get sorted eventually.

I did eventually manage a change to the slightly lower DD tariff through my account.I took a chance and clicked "renew" under the 2 year fix showing on my account page. Hoping that it wasn't an instant renew, it isn't, I was taken to a list of tariffs including the DD Next Flex. Selected that and it has taken effect from today. My tariff now shows at the lower rates. They're still pushing the 2 yr fix though!1

In the same situation as yourself above, only had a bill showing monetary cost not actually how much it cost per kWh (unit costs) You have to work that one out for yourself + standing charges from meter reads.
Anyways I've fired off an email asking why I'm not on their DD price, the account is set up to take payments, infact they've already taken the first one.
All new to me but I'm pretty keen on keeping on top of bills and what the tariff should, but hey they only owe me £8 not a big deal.
Do check anyone though if you're supposed to be on the DD rate it could be for me a difference of £6+ per month more if not corrected.1 -

As an ex Symbio customer, Eon.next have not yet issued me with a bill. However I agreed promptly to be on DD and they have taken my first DD payment. I don't see how I can be on any other tariff than the DD one so I sincerely hope that when I finally get a bill that bill will reflect this and charge me at the DD rate.Reed0
