Howdy!
I received a polite note addressed to me from a lady who has moved into one of the other flats.
The lady was told by her landlord that I haven't a car, which is correct .

Now here's the thing ; the one thing I do like about the letter I received is the politeness and not just moving into my space.
The lady in question left her mobile no and best time to contact her etc.
If it keeps the peace and the tenants are nice quiet people , my initial thought is to ask the lady who lives below her who is a director of the block if she thinks they are ok and not problem tenants.

If she deems them to be absolutely fine , then I was thinking of allowing them to use the space in exchange for a bottle of Jameson's whisky.
I do appreciate the nicely crafted letter, but for unlimited free parking I think it's a small condition for her to comply.
Anyway, in my situation what would you do ?

Some of you may have seen one of my previous posts on the same subject a couple of weeks ago
I'll leave it there ..

I'd ask for a bottle of Jameson's every week. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

If you're knocking back a bottle of Jameson's every week then you've got bigger problems 🤣
If she wants to use it on a permanent basis then I'd come to a more formal arrangement with a monthly fee, I don't thing £50-£100 per month would be unreasonable.1 -

Thanks @neilmcl😹
Thankfully , I haven't got a drink problem...yet !I'm trying to be a good neighbour , and also not seen as a horrible person so to speak .
Tbh, I don't think a monthly / weekly bill would be entertained hence the nice letter.
That would be the same as anyone else imho. The thing about living in a small block is that word gets around about everything .
Initially , I did think about renting my parking space out.
In my previous home , I had a parking space where liberties were taken .
Eventually I decided to advertise my space . No takers . Of course when I moved home , I got contacted by which time it was too late .
Trying to be the usual laid back approach when it comes to parking spaces can be challenging 🤫0 -

I would say no, but that's just me. If they wanted a place with a parking space then they should have bought one2

If you move forward with this then I would make absolutely clear that this is a temporary permission to park in your space and can be revoked at any time by you with no notice or reason regardless of any length of time it has been in use by them.6

Firstly Jameson Whiskey is OK but is a relatively poor cousin of a good single malt Scotch Whisky and secondly, if a bottle lasts him as long as a week, then he isn't taking his drinking seriously enough.
Hic!!A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".3 -
What about when/if you move and the people/person who buys your property? What do they do if you have given your neighbour rights to park OR what does your neighbour do if you move and someone else wants the parking space back?1
