I opened a HSBC adavance account in August 2015 and it is still active ( with the £1.75K going through each month)
Am I right in assuming I am not eligable for this offer?
Note there is no longer any need for the £1,750 each month now.

You would be correct. You need to fully close the account and then wait until a switch incentive comes around that doesn't exclude you based on having previously held a HSBC account within a certain time frame. With the current offers excluding customers with accounts held since 2018, it might be a few years
It's my belief that HSB and First Direct never forget that you've had an account with them, Thanks for comfirming what I thought
I agree that HSBC/FD have long memories. Whilst FD make it quite clear that you can only ever get 1 incentive from them, the terms of the recent HSBC offers have been such that as long as you haven't held a HSBC account since a particular date (Jan 2018 from the recent ones I believe) then you can open a new current account and qualify for another incentive. For this reason it's a good idea to close down your HSBC current account ASAP to get the clock started for future incentives.
  • Anyone know if you got this bonus when previously having a First Direct account after january 2019? I know they have opened up the offer again but not sure if they had changed the t&c. I applied before it last ended around the 15th December but dont remember seeing this criteria.
