Faulty boxt boiler

Hello,

I had a boiler fitted through Boxt 3 weeks ago, a worcster 4000. It stopped working the day after it was fitted. Water was getting boiling hot then shutting off to cold. The heating is also inconsistent and it is freezing in my home.

I am having to take my two young children to friends houses for baths, my youngest has bad asthma and is waking up hacking in the night, which I am sure is down to it being so cold.

I have had Worcester out 5 times and every time they tell me it is sorted for it to break again a day or two later. The last man was lovely and to be fair very angry for me and has promised he will be back next week with the parts to fix it. Although, he is not 100% sure what is actually wrong with it.

Has anybody had a similar experience? How long will this go on for until they replace it? I’ve just spent £1000’s on a faulty boiler in the middle of winter and it’s really stressing me out now.

I would be really grateful of any advice on similar experiences.

Sounds as though Boxt have passed you over to Worcester Bosch as part of their warranty that came with your boiler.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the retailer (i.e. Boxt) has responsibility too as they sold you the item.  Given it was faulty the day after installation, and the manufacturer have visited 5 times, then it's clear the goods were not of satisfactory quality and not fit for purpose.  I would be going back to Boxt and telling them you want a replacement.

Help from Which? as to how you might go about this... Faulty product? How to get a refund, repair or replacement - Which?  I'm not sure if it will get you any better or quicker help as they'll still want to defer to Worcester Bosch but if you got in touch demonstrating you know your rights and telling them what you expect of them then you never know.  I'd certainly not be happy either!

    This five repairs on a
new boiler isn’t fit for purpose especially if they are still saying despite ordering parts that they don’t know if it will solve it, I would also be pointing out you have young vulnerable household members and would ask for them to cover the cost of some plug in heaters and the extra cost of running them, after five busts this should have been sorted, your going to have to get firm! Don’t you have anyone you can borrow some plug in lol heaters from?
