Non delivery of items

Hello,
I purchased £208 0f goods from Sports direct online on the 26th November. I paid for next day delivery which was on a Saturday 27th. Hermes received goods. I checked the tracking number and it said there is a delay. It's now 2nd December and the status hasn't changed with Hemes. Impossible to contact them see below. No number.

Its also Impossible to contact Sports Direct as they don't have a contact number.  The robot chat is useless. I raised a ticket with Sports Direct yesterday. No reply.  This company is really frustrating to deal with.
How long do I have to wait and what should I do next ? I would rather a refund so I can shop elsewhere before Christmas.

Thanks

You can reject the goods and start a refund request now - even though they've not yet arrived - because the seller has failed to deliver them within the agreed timescales.

It sounds like the fault probably lies with Hermes (surprise!!) but that is besides the point - Sports Direct contracted Hermes to deliver the goods so are still responsible for any issues.

When the good arrive, just send them straight back, or refuse to accept them from the courier.
    1. Thanks for reply. I'm going down the chargeback route. Both companies are frustrating to deal with. Never again will I use a company that doesn't have a genuine contact number. Impossible to deal with. Both have live robot chat which is a waste of time. Neither respond to emails. I should have read the reviews of both companies online. It's exactly what I'm experiencing.
  • To be fair you haven’t waited very long for an email reply - give them 3 or 4 working days before going on the warpath.

Unless they've specified a delivery date a chargeback will fail as it hasn't been 30 days since the order was placed.

" I paid for next day delivery which was on a Saturday 27th."

A quick google search would have found it 🤷‍♀️

That's not a specific date.  It has to be specifically named as such. It might have been, but "Next Day Delivery" is not a specific date as it stands.

That depends on the order site.  Many sites will say "blah blah, next day delivery to arrive on November 27th", which is a specific date.

I assume they do this so that people who order at 11pm on the 25th don't get angry when their goods don't arrive on the 26th.

Op, does the order confirmation have a date for delivery on it?
Does the order confirmation have a date for delivery specified on it and mention 'next day delivery' anywhere at all?
What time of day did you place the order?
I count next day to mean next working day as a fail-safe. Also a lot of companies have a cut-off time for next day delivery in their terms.
Going back to the query, if you have a date on an order confirmation for delivery and that date has passed, then I would disagree with HeinzVarieties about waiting 30 days to seek a refund. For context I ordered from SportsDirect by standard postage and it arrived 2 days later with my brother a week ago.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
