Hopefully a NSD today. I’m training a colleague all day and then off to college tonight. I usually buy a cup of tea and a chocolate bar during break so tonight will take some tea in a flask and a snack with me. Trying to cut down on sugar anyway so I won’t miss it

It's definitely not just you - I didn't run again last night for the same reasons, and my short (under 1.5 miles) cycle from car > Office this morning left me with fingers so cold I couldn't feel them in spite of my winter cycling gloves!

Eek. Must have been v cold where you are! Although I walked the dog on the beach at lunchtime and I’m only just getting feeling back in my toes. The fresh air was lovely though

Nope - fell at the first hurdle on the NSD (and I do mean the first hurdle - it wasn’t even 9am!) Had to get some ham for sandwiches to feed the work colleague as didn’t think the questionable cheese would cut it. Then saw some of the felt tips DD has been banging on about for school were reduced so bought them as well and some coffee and ginger tea that I love and here I sit £22.99 later!

Was up and out early this morning to take the work colleague back to the airport. Absolutely knackered after a long day yesterday and then 3hr college class so I’m just taking ten minutes to sit by the sea (in my car - it’s 1 degree!) with my free Nero coffee. We have work health insurance with Vitality so can get a free coffee every week as a perk. Hopefully this will wake me up enough to do a days work.

Definitely a NSD today. These work expenses have made me v poor this month. From next month I’ll have a separate fund for these

I always feel very lucky to live so close and find it so relaxing (slightly less so when the Labrador starts chasing things and barking 🤣)

Happy Friday! A quiet weekend ahead (hopefully). Must get some food in tonight as the fridge is looking bare. Will probably get a ham or a chicken which I can stretch into 3 or 4 different meals - must do better with the meal planning. My actual food budget from next week is much smaller than what I’ve actually been spending because I haven’t been planning and then end up ‘topping up’ multiple times so it’s important that I do work out meals before shopping. I also need to use up cupboard stores so need to make a list of what I have.

Other than that, it’s a weekend of tidying DDs room, trying to declutter a bit and booking the heating man to come and do the radiators. Also need to decide if I can be bothered selling on Vinted. I’ve sold a few things on eBay before but actually faffing around with the inevitable messages and then posting is putting me off. Advice welcome!

    MSE things: -

£21.25 to Halifax CC - this was compensation for a late train last week which popped into my account today
£10 withdrawn from Airtime rewards to take money off my next phone bill

I'm waiting for £220 in flight compensation from FLYmaybe who cancelled a flight last month with less than 12hrs notice (grrr) and also the NI energy payment which is £600.

Both of these will take up to 90 days to arrive so I’m not budgeting them and will decide which pots to fill depending on when they come in

Have also printed out a meal planner and downloaded and printed a debt payoff tracker. I do like a visual!

Got a YS pork shoulder on my food shop last night with a two day use by so bunged it in the slow cooker last night with a jar of Reggae jerk sauce and we’ll have that for lunch today and tomorrow with the rest frozen for another day.

Planning jacket potatoes with it today and will roast a butternut squash I found yesterday at the same time for some soup. That will be my lunches until Wednesday.

Paying off even a tiny amount from my balance yesterday has made me feel ridiculously happy 😆 Can’t wait until payday when I’ll be able to get (just) into the next bracket down
