Apparently my house doesn't exist?

This is an issue I know well. Though slightly different circumstances. In my case I built a new house, chose a house name and moved in. All good. My house has planning permission, is signed off as complete by building control, is on the electoral register and is on the council tax valuation list. But it is not on the royal mail Postcode Address File. The only practical issue of that, is when I order anything for delivery, I have to enter the address manually. Then it gets delivered with no issues. The "issue" is I have not "registered" the address with the local council, for which there is a £100 fee, and they will then notify the post office. The Post Office will only take instruction from the council and the council will only do this upon payment of their £100 fee.I have chosen not to spend the £100 as it is of little practical issue to me.IF you want it "solved" you will have to contact the street naming department of your local council, pay whatever fee they charge to register a new address.Any issues with did it need planning etc are irrelevant as it sounds like it was split a long time ago and even if done without permission is long since passed the time they can take enforcement action. If you want to research this further google "Unique Property Reference Number" and "Public Sector Geospatial Agreement" You might find, as I did, that even though my council denies ever registering my new house, someone has issued it with a UPRN which can only ne issued by the local council. It is mainly that fact that makes me refuse to pay them £1004
