in the end I went with the vanguard lifestrategy 60%

im glad to say for a total noob it’s all been pretty easy and straightforward

and my investment is currently up over 8%

  • I’d stay the heck away from wealthify - I know it’s been a very odd year finances wise but expected a better return on my investment with them after 11 months of being with them. I’m -7.8% currently and dropping  - was in the red with them for about two weeks in the first month when signed up. Since then it’s been negative negative negative.had another account with them but shut this at a loss- can’t afford to do this on my current account with them.  Don’t listen to any possible projections / past performances they show on their site - in my experience this is pie in the sky.

Hardly Wealthify's fault that stockmarkets are tumbling. The various other providers will be facing just the same negative returns in their robo-funds. You cannot judge performance of a long term investment by returns over just 11 months. Periods like this come along every few years.

Wealthify did not invade Ukraine or cause interest rates and inflation to rise or the cost of living squeeze or cause China#s vaccination to fail.

Most people are down around 8-15%.    All quite normal.

With the greatest respect, you don't appear to understand investing, and that doesn't put you in a good position to post a recommendation (positive or negative) about a company.    When you invest, you get positive years, negative years and nothing years.  You don't know the order they will come.  You average the ups and downs out over the long term.   Typically 5-15 years plus.   2021 was a positive year but 2022 YTD is a negative year.
You only invested for 11 months.   Not even 1/15th of a cycle.

You can invest in Vanguard funds on many different platforms, including Vanguards own.
The best one will depend on what you intend doing ( regular investing or as hoc lump sums) and how much you want to invest .
