Designed kitchen not working out

  • Here some images without doors, just noticed the doors are not the colour we chose either….complete headache 😕

  • I’m surprised they didn’t check this when they came to do measurements before ordering.

I’d have thought they would have had a slightly larger gap and then fitted a pelmet.

    Um.

Well, they do need scribing in but it is very tight - there isn't
much forgiveness there.  The fact that you have that plaster coving is helping no one and it should all come down now as it makes no sense in context with tall cabinets.

What on earth is that massive gap on the right of the wall units?  There's scribing and then there's just a whopping great gap of dead space that doesn't
    match the wall
units -  but it's been signed off at design stage?

This isn't a premium outfit, so who is it?  It seems that I don't live far away from you.

Regarding the colour of the doors, are you sure there isn't a protective film on them?  Our installer thought ours were the wrong colour, and actually phoned the supplier about it.  Very red face when he came off the phone.
  • Snap. Our joiner thought we’d been supplied with gloss instead of matt !

Have to agree with Doozer, coving in a kitchen is not a good look
I have it, at my parents' insistence. And pelmets :D. (And lights in the lanterns, but that's another story).

I wasn't bothered either way, but it does look better with.

    I'm guessing yours doesn't physically
    clash with the kitchen units?

I'm not saying that coving in a kitchen isn't
a good look, it can be beautiful,
but it has to be respected, not be close to the units and definitely not so close that it has to be hacked up.

This is one of ours - seriously
planned coving happened here. We built and plastered out two fake walls on the left and back for the units to sit within, so the coving sits proud. Even on the right, it's a 'normal' wall but the coving and units are spaced well away from each other. There's no question over whether you're going to be able to get the doors open.

  • Confirmed today that all the doors and side panels etc have been supplied in the wrong colour and now have to wait 2 weeks for the correct ones!
company is trend transformation Birmingham and would definitely not recommend them.
the showroom manager measured the kitchen and even suggested wall units to the ceiling but he can’t have checked the ceiling height can he?

It is always frustrating for the customer, but companies often get things wrong.

Doozer, I like the flooring in your design!

One day, when it's just me padding around in my socks, with maybe one small and contented dog,  I will have that floor.  🙈
