DAY 10 OF SLATE’S ADVENT A TO Z OF CHEESE: Jerseyhoeve Gouda. ⁠

Jerseyhoeve is a Dutch Gouda is made from the organic milk of eighty Jersey cows that graze on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee off the southern coast of Holland. Naturally rich in carotene, this milk creates an intensely creamy cheese. Jerseyhoeve is aged for one year to bring out its depth of flavour: well balanced with hints of nuttiness and a little crystalline crunch. ⁠

DAY 11 OF SLATE’S ADVENT A TO Z OF CHEESE: Kirkham’s Lancashire⁠

Kirkham's Lancashire is made by third-generation cheesemaker Graham on the family farm near Goosnargh. We source our Kirkham’s from Neals Yard Dairy, whose cheesemongers regularly visit Graham’s farm to select young cheeses for extended aging up to ten months. Mature Kirkham’s Lancashire has an incredible deep flavour and satisfying tang whilst its texture remains as buttery and crumbly as younger Lancashires. A real treat with the currants of an Eccles cake or mince pie! ⁠
