Hi,
Hope I post in the correct section.
Basically, I needed to return a defective item and requested for a replacement. I picked one of the options was to print the label in store (royal mail). At the till , the woman told me to scan the qr code on the machine and it printed a return label and told me there is no receipt/tracking number.
I am just concerned if the parcel goes missing then I dont have proof or comeback to say I have returned it. Please advise on what I should do?
This is the first time I have not had a receipt as i usually would have one when returning via printing label at home but this time i decided to try print in store
Thank you

Whenever I've done print in store at the post office I have received a till receipt showing the return address and weight of package. Also, as soon as the package is scanned at the sorting office I get an email from Amazon confirming that the return is in progress. Never had a parcel go astray and I've sent a dozen or more over the last few years.0

Label can be reprinted by RM if you present the QR, so you could get the tracking no. if required. I used to say to the customer to take a photo of the label for a quick method of getting the tracking no.
If they did as they should and gave the item an 'acceptance 'scan then most times Amazon issue refunds on that scan though sometimes do wait for the return.

Update: spoke to Royalmail on social media and they have provided me a tracking number.1

I've always been given a receipt when sending back Amazon parcels at our post office.0

The continued conflation simply adds to peoples confusion (trust me RM/PO staff have to explain it daily)
What the PO do or do not means nothing when the OP dropped off with RM

Anyone help
Im.in.the same position
Iv used amazon for over 10 years
Never had a problem with returns UNTIL NOW!!!
Returned hedge trimmer
Local.londis/post office
Not sure if it was londis ie hermes / everi
Or post office ttey both work at the same counter
I asked at the counter they stated
We dont provide receipts
As once the QR code is scanned onto the system
It generates a return sequence
Amazon receive a notification so does the customer this acts as a electronic receipt
Im.making a claim under the amazon a to z guarantee
We keep going around in.circles
Amazon want
A courier name or tracking number
To be able to pursue the case further
Without this information tzey will.close the claim
I assumed if i provided the origional generated Q R CoDE
It would generate a duplicate receipt from. Either the post office or everi
GDPR ruies may prevent hooding this info
For longer than is reasonably necessary
Anyone gave any ideas
Or am.i.on.the right tracks
Thanks in advance for reading
