No @Humdinger1 , it's all appropriate subjects. My dad had diabetes and my sister has pre diabetes. My figures in that area are reassuringly good - my GP says he wishes that his were as healthy as mine 😁  I put this down to my near constant attempts to lose weight (since I was 18 and I'm 55 now) which means that carbs and sugar have overall been reduced. I don't like potatoes much either which probably helps.

    Good morning everyone,

My gas/electric bill up until the 13th of March rolled in last week. I was £125 in debit after my DD payments so I paid that from the account where I've been sqirreling my £67 refunds and a bit of extra cash. The total remaining in there so far is £517.67 which is better in my bank account than theirs. I also receved an email telling me that standing charges have gone up by almost 14p a day to almost 91p per day, so almost £1 before any is used. At least !!!!!! (short form of Richard) Turpin wore a mask.....

Anyway, small grocery shop done but I will need more bread and sugar before the weekend. I bought sugar the week before last but the teens drink a lot of tea. They're no trouble and they tidy up before they go home so I don't mind buying them teabags, sugar, biscuits etc.

I cleaned upstairs yesterday. It took me all day because I moved my desk so that I can get into my wardrobes (two single ones) without it being a tight squeeze. I also arranged my summer clothes into colours and put all of my hoodies together. Jeans and summer trousers were folded then rolled and put into drawers. I have one drawer left to do but it was 3 weeks since the HT said he'd hoover his own room (he hasn't) so I thought I'd better go and do something about that.

I'm going to make oat biscuits now before heading to best friend about 11ish. We'll do some gardening (lots of weeding needed) and he's bought me some marigolds to put in my garden.

Take care all of you 😊

Another week of building work at best friends is finished with. The kitchen is starting to look really good. We've planted a lot of pansies, primroses and marigolds and there are also primroses popping up in places where they weren't planted. There were several bees that were very interested in where I was weeding - they were there on Tuesday too.

The HT is on his two weeks holidays from college but is still working up to going for a haircut. I'm hoping for dry weather for the next couple of days so that I can get out in the disaster area formerly known as our back garden. I will also need to go back to BF's house to pick up the plants that he bought for me as I've forgotten to bring them home again. He bought me an easter egg so my mind was elsewhere 🤣

This week's grocery shopping was £80.40 which isn't bad for a school holidays week. I have packed lunch things in for the start of next week's building work (Tuesday) and plenty of fruit.

My Attic24 blanket is coming along well. It's really helped to have something to do on rainy days during the building work. It also means that the blanket is being made much quicker that it would have been if I was indoors at home.

Take care all of you 😊

BF's garden is sounding lovely - primroses are so pretty.
I hope HT's room and haircut are dealt with soon.

There was zero chance of that happening 🤣 I did go back for the plants though.

I'm hoping that the Easter weekend gives me a chance to catch up with all the things that need doing round the house. Yesterday I cut the grass which was stupid long. I also pulled some rhubarb - some for me, some for my next door neighbour and some for next door neighbour of BF. I took the rhubarb and a small jar of home made jam for BF's  neighbour when I dropped the grass cuttings and rhubarb leaves to BF (for the compost heap). There is still a lot of rhubarb left. Doing batte with my garden took most of the afternoon. The first cut after the winter is always the worst.

Today I cleaned the inside of the car before it was too hot at the front of the house, repaired some of the beading at the edge of the laminate floor in the hall, ordered birthday cards for my sister and one of my great nephews (paid for from the birthday pot), collected my tablets from the pharmacy that the pharmacy had to order last week, conquered the ironing mountain, hoovered the stairs and upstairs and put a tablet in the cat. I did only hoover the floor of the HT's bedroom as far as his floordrobe. He said he didn't think his room needed hoovering as I did it last week 😮🤣

I have a list of things that still need doing so I'm rolling those forward to tomorrow. I need to cut the grass again once it's dried out a bit more and there are plenty of weeds.

Take care all of you 😊

You’ve been so busy, you must have worked off at least three Easter eggs 😁
