UC/Job centre

Hi,
Does anyone know if you can go into a job centre without appointment?
or do they just turn you away.
I am having difficulty with accessing account info from a much earlier claim period, I recall the job centre use to be able to do you a letter confirming dates you were on benefit but more recently when I tried to ask a work coach they were like you do it yourself with showing statements but I just have lost access to the first universal credit account.
I was due to have a telephone appointment following psn request to help regain access into the older account I had lost (in proving time spent on benefits to a background screening company) but haven't heard anything yet and to be fair I unplug my landline where I now do work at home so it's a bit tricky.
Also can you get your universal credit account closed early rather then keep it open for 6 months after claim.
Also if you are due a refund from DWP debt management, can that effect your current universal credit as income in sort of thing.
Thanks for reading.

Yes, you can go into the jobcentre for help and support without an appointment. They should be able to help you regain access to your account. You may need your phone with you and access to your registered email account. The work coach is correct - they are not able to issue you any letters as proof of benefit - you would print off a copy of your UC statement for this purpose.Yes, you can request your UC claim to be closed at any point - best to request it in writing on your journal. There are some circumstances where this request may be refused, but in most cases they should action your request.Refunds from DWP debt management should not be treated as income. Even if the original deduction was taken from income, that income would still have been treated as income for UC in that AP, so treating any refund as income would be double-counting to the detriment of the claimant.1

Cool, thank you this is really informative, hopefully a trip to the job centre won't come to it as I think I've lost access to the email address associated with the first UC account.
Thank you again.0
