" You must complete this by the date given, and send it back to Northampton, with a copy to the other side (or their solicitors if they've nominated one as the address for service)."
This needs to get to Northampton by tomorrow (1/3/22) I can send it 1st class royal mail... Do I need to photocopy the form first or can I email a copy to UKPC ?0 -
I see at the bottom of the n149a cover sheet there is a web address with the directions questionnaire, hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk . Is it better to use an online form? Would I be able to email this form to both Northampton and UKPC ?
(Just realised the email I got was from dcblegal and their client is UKPC ?)0 -
So you found that list you were following earlier. Good.
Now you have to read it.
Items 8, 9 and 10 on that list explain exactly what you need to do.
Here they are again...3 -
Just received the summons to court on the 22nd of June, with the letter that asks for me to confirm my contact details etc, UKPC sent me an email with an offer to settle before the court date but it got lost in spam, and it was only a 24 hour offer....0

'Summons' relates to a criminal trial, this isn't a criminal case. Many of the chancers make an 'offer to settle' in a last ditch attempt to get the motorist to give them some money, but if not forthcoming, a discontinuation before the hearing can follow. Their critical date to discontinue without being exposed to unreasonable behaviour costs is around 7 days prior to the hearing.Obviously we can't give guarantees on this, all we can comment on is behavioural patterns, so work on the basis that there will be a hearing on 22/6, but hope to get some good news prior. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Obviously, the important part of that hearing notice is the deadline by which you must file and serve your WS and exhibits. The stage that we trust everyone here is fully expecting, having read the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread and knowing 'what happens when' from the section if the same name in red capitals.
What's your deadline? Not later than 2 weeks before?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just got this today!
We act for the Claimant in the above matter. Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant's N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records. The attached has also been filed with the Court. We will now proceed to close our file accordingly. Kind Regards,Shannon FoleyDCB Legal Limited
