Not true, they are both trading names of Clydesdale Bank.Ed-1 said:
Virgin is a trading name of Yorkshire Bank.andyhicks88 said:It's not a major issue of course but i don't like the way that Virgin Money is not recognized as Virgin Money in a lot of places and still called Yorkshire Bank. For example I just added my new virgin account on Paypal which is recognising it as a Yorkshire Bank account and I just had my switch letter through this morning from First Direct telling me they are processing my switch to Yorkshire Bank. You'd of thought they have been Virgin Money for long enough now to be seen as their own entity.0 -
I opened a Virgin Money Plus account two days ago and said I wanted to 'switch' from my Santander Everyday Account (which I've been meaning to close anyway). Thing is there's only £50 in my Santander account and no regular activity (no salary in, no direct debits set up). I'm just wondering if Virgin Money will recognise this as a 'switch' for the purposes of their £100 experience voucher and whether I should bother setting up DDs on my VM account in order to get this?1
