Getting a suitable housing for my mother

    Which is why there is confusion. His post in this thread reads as if  is the sister's house.

    It seems as though the mother was previously living with the sister in the sister's house.

    The OP (according to the other thread) was living in the house that belongs to the mother.  The OP lived in that house with the OP's child plus the OP's wife of two years whom the OP is divorcing.

    If that is the case, then it probably makes it certain that the OP's mother won't be entitled to state support (for housing at least) because of sufficient assets irrespective of residency test.

    Of course, we could all be wrong.
