We have been in our property 2 year and had sky installed with no issues however virgin are now in the area and offering a lot more for a lot less so no brainier we make the switch however the cables were jsit put down so how much work (aka damage) does it normally cause to wire your house up? Read a couple of horror stories of legal battles for them to pay for things they ruined. Any had installed it and happy with the service?

We were forced to leave Sky for a while a few years ago due to building works meaning the Sky dish was temporarily removed, and had such an appalling experience with Virgin Mediocre that we literally left them again to return to Sky 12 months to the day that the contract expired. Suffice to say that by the time we were two months in, I'd had to make so many calls to them regarding their inept billing, the staff at the billing & payments call centre recognised my voice.
Personally I'd use their offer to haggle with Sky though - and indeed I have done, as Sky have no idea that we'd never even contemplate returning to VM!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I had VM installed 3 years ago. Engineer turned up on the day of appointment, drilled the holes to pass the cable through from outside to the box installed inside. He installed the outer box as well where the cabling from the road goes to and tacked all the wires so they are out of the way. Engineer also cleaned up any mess from drilling and put covers down to stop any dust/dirt getting on to carpets where he was drilling. I believe it was about 2 hours from Engineer turning up to him leaving after installing everything and checking that all the equipment was working as expected. Overall, good experience and no issues.Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared - Buddha1

Just keep your eye on what he is doing when he installs, you only hear the horror stories.
