JJG said:Yes you can, your right to cancel is not linked to the condition of the goods (regardless of what Argos might tell you).
Click and collect with payment online is a distance sale.
They may be permitted to reduce the refund for excessive handing if they provided you with the correct durable (email or on paper) information regarding your right to cancel the contract. What information did Argos give you?Honestly I have no idea what the point of your reply even is, it adds absolutely nothing.0 -

I guess in this case it was more a case of how do i know i will like the product until i try some coffee from it.It just happens to be the case that after trying it and then being able to compare to a tassimo i have found i probably would have prefered to get a new tassimo than this dolce gusto.I should have bought it on amazon i guess i would have been able to send it back to them and they would have just done the return.I know its basically my fault but i was hoping i may have a way of returning it to them.
However in order to have this luxury they have to provide you with certain information.
If you'd like to know whether Argos can reduce the refund you're best posting screenshots of all the emails they sent about the order (omit any personal info and the small print needs to be visible). Without this it's impossible to say as their website doesn't detail your right to cancel the contract, only their return policy which is in addition to your consumer rights.

Assuming the machine works and the OP simply doesn't like it, would the ethical thing not to be to put it up for sale in the local paper or internet? I only make the point because Argos may well take the machine back, but having being used they won't re-sell it. That will result in a perfectly functional and almost brand new coffee machine ending up in landfill, which is something of a shame.1

Presumably it is the coffee available in the pods that the OP doesn't like, not anything wrong with the machine.3

I suggest the OP tries a different type of coffee pod rather than returning a perfectly good machine .There's a lot of different pods available, I mainly use my machine for hot chocolate, the chococino pods.0
