So today I answered a call from
02081257159
Saying that I have been selected out of 2 to a free UK 3 day break.
This is from a survey I did about 6 months ago from freestuff.com or something similar I don't rember as I did a load and all they wanted was my serial to send me more stuff and thought it was a con.
As they said it was from one of the survey I got excited that I maybe have won something and thought it to be legit. To help with this they said that I still had to to pay for breakfast per person per day. They asked where I would like to go and stay as long as it's in the next 3 months.
So I said a date my partner's birthday and place. They said I could change the lady then put me on hold and then a guy answers who applied for being transferred and said he would conplet the process. he gave a big sleach about being flexible and holding of the actuall booking untill I was Shure and I could change my mind he said I would be getting a voucher of sorts to use to book the break through the agent.
So I thought that sounded better. He said I could pay over the phone or online. So I thought online with my credit card should make it safe
Upon looking now I can't find Thier website on Google which is very strange. No TripAdvisor etc. The website number 0800 102 6380
Is not found on Google either.
I'm thinking this might be a con.
Shall I try to book a hotel and then phone the hotel up after to make sure they have booked it with no costs or try and get my money back?

Hi I've just received the same phone call, what have you done? Is it legit?0

This sounds like a scam.
Bit confused as you mention paying by card. Did they ask you to pay? Definitely a scam if so! No one would ask you to pay for a prize.

Won a prize from a survey but you've still got to pay for the food? Sounds dodgy to me.
Plus this from the Terms & Conditions - they can charge you the full price if you don't accept a marketing phone call.......
"12. When you return from your break, a member of the marketing team will contact you via zoom or telephone. They will provide you with information about their latest holiday offers/promotions as well as ask you for your feedback with regards the booking process and about your stay at the hotel. Although there is no obligation to take up any offer made, you are obligated to take the call. Failure to do so will result in you paying the full rental cost of your accommodation"0 -
"Free room pay for food" promotions are not new and are not necessarily a scam or a good deal either.
In the specific case of the OP I don't recognise the web address in question so can't say whether it's genuine or not.0 -
I remember being told I'd won free 5* accomodation in Greece years ago.Had to pay for food, and book flights through their company.Worked out far cheaper to book a package holiday.Scam? Call it what you will but it wasn't worth doing!0
