VCS are popular in the newspapers and it's good to see that their stupidity has cost them £1000.ellaro9 said:Looks like it went national....

The reporter spoke to me on the phone, I gave him lots of information that didn't make it into the article, I did specifically mention MSE forums, told him I wanted it publishing so as to help anyone else suffering at the hands of these companies.
Renshaw-smith has never got over the ban on clamping when he called himself Captain Clampit ?
With a new independent appeals service, doubtful the VCS rubbish will go much further
Without reading backwards did VCS bring this claim themselves or was a legal involved ?

VCS and Excel's treatment of disabled drivers is beyond despicable. I am surprised that the lady who champions disabled drivers and appeared in the recent TV programme "nails her flag to their mast" especially after the highly publicised case of the double amputee veteran.
The first and only time I received a PCN from a PPC it was from Excel Parking Services who are owned by the same director as VCS (Simon Renshaw Smith).
As a professional person and associate of a professional body who has worked for a large company in various customer facing roles, I was horrified at the way that this company treated people that had the misfortune to use their services. My perception of parking companies was that they were part of the service industry but after my experience with them they do not understand the meaning of the word service.
When working as a customer services manager if there has been a failure in the quality of service I would compensate the customer not try to extract money from them.
There was no question that I would fight my PCN to the very end even if I lost (which I did but was not the biggest loser).
As a matter of interest Derby court has not proved the best place for this company. I can think of three hearings (not including the OP) that have gone against VCS/Excel. Two of the hearings were Keep Calms and they did well on costs. Daniel and Chelsea also won.

It's fair to say that once the new appeals service comes into force, SRS and his boys will suffer if they continue their rubbish claims. ?
Let's face it, the IPC/IAS and Hurley will become a nothing. No more code of practice, no more appeals service
The IPC on their web site boast they have over 150 members. Such a small number which is not sign of success is it ? The IPC/IAS will no longer be home to rogue traders ... SRS is time limited now. for him the IAS will longer have a purpose apart from requesting details from the DVLA.
Without the support of the IAS HE WILL STRUGGLE.
The same really with the BPA and POPLA,
The two accredited firms will be the closest to the DODO in 2022

The new single appeals service and the reduction in the level of charges will impact on them.
It is possible that we may face further restrictions due to the new variant. Omicrom which appears to be spreading quickly. This will also have an impact as Excel and VCS's operations are in airports, train stations and shopping centres.
What is also underestimated is the effect of the green movement on travel which will in turn have an impact on these companies as people travel less.
