Final Numbers for December & 2021
Dec - £521.74/£515.00
- Really pleased with this as it included all Christmas food and drink.
- Most of which will be gone tomorrow night, so for once I obviously pitched it about right in terms of purchases.
- I didn't account for how much chocolate we would be given though, so gifts remain as does the extra cheese we can home with form the in-laws
Overall, pleased with 2021 as below target, but also saw lots of areas for improvement, so additional reduction targeted for 2022 - see you all on the other side.

I've totted up my spends for December and the year as a whole. Horrendous over budget for this month at £102.81/70, but overall for the year it s £1084.18/1126, leaving me £41.18 in credit.
Thank you to everyone on here for supporting and encouraging each other over the past year, and I will be seeing you on the 2022 challengeGrocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget4 -
Finishing the year with a flourish, with dear friends joining us for a few days. We will eat curry tonight, and drink muchly. All in, and paid for, I have ended the year on £2,858.57 out of my annual budget of £3000 having included cat stuff on top of the usual fresh groceries, stores, toiletries except face cream and cleaning materials plus subscription (tea and coffee supplies) and milk and eggs being delivered.
95.29% of my annual budget, without using the £500 contingency. Still room for improvement but it is a long haul for us.

I forgot the veg box would come out of December - literally today - and needed some more bread and milk, so have gone over by £15.64. It's good to see some veg though, I've been scoffing chocs and not feeling like proper food.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Thank you@goldfinches. Am the last one standing, others tested +ve earlier this week. Fortunately it doesn't look like their sense of taste/smell has been altered and they all got appetites back after a couple of days. It's swept through the extended family very rapidly and they're making good use of the whisky mac suggestion 👍@pelirocco - it was bacon and big macs while I was pregnant with DD1 (was also vegetarian up to that point). I find if I'm craving a particular food now it's because my body is out of whack. I'm already on B12 injections and VitD supplements. Recently I couldn't get enough green beans and spinach; blood test showed I was folate deficient so now on folic acid supplements for 3 months too

So we ended the month on
£300.48/£300.
So only 48p over budget. Calling that a win.
Thank you to everyone on this thread that kept us all accountable for our spending helping us to curb too much overspending.
Off to January thread now. Can't quite believe it is now 2022 but there you go.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy1 -
@esjw - glad to hear you're still standing and that the rest of the family are making a good recovery.
I'm totally impressed with those who've managed to produce figures for their December and/or annual spends. I lost track of where I was with my various budgeted amounts early in Dec. and simply haven't managed to sort out how to allocate the money I spent on Christmas Eve. I also made a quick foray for milk yesterday and snapped up some reduced items like extra strong foil, pouches of cooked whole chestnuts and ready made vegeburgers for the freezer. Thankfully there is still some money left in the bank account I use for food and sundries shopping so I think I'll just draw a veil over this month and go on over to January to have another go.
See you all over on the new thread and Happy New Year to one and all."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Hi everyone.. Happy New Year.
My total for the year has come to app £3028, which is about the same as previous years. I need to aim to get this down again, but only gone over by £11 in December. Despite Christmas, and DD2 here for a month and several overnight stays from GD, I think that's pretty good going.
Going over to January now.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July ££110.46/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
