I've just added up the "odds and ends" shops over the last few days - £37.14 😱. I'd thought it would be around £18 - just shows me how easily the spends creep up.That leaves my monthly balance as (higher budget this month for Christmas spends)
£335.727 -
Well I too was too tempted by the Lidl voucher and despite planning my meals, we went and bought a bog standard shop, no real meal plans, lots of Christmas snacking stuff which admittedly will come from a different budget but ended up at £45 ish instead of £55 which wasn’t the intention at all!Couple this with the fact we had workmen in all weekend and a few unplanned stressful evening occurrences, meant I didn’t want anything I’d bought either so felt a bit glum.I will meal plan tomorrow, I already have a nice soup on the hob which will be good for lunches, we grabbed a few bits from Olio (but mostly bread) so I know there is enough food in! But sometimes I have such a desire to shop and buy anyway!Tomorrow I do need milk and yoghurt, mostly for my little one so must avoid anything else!Approx £55 left for December (excluding festive meals) without having done the maths for taking from the Christmas budget for snacks etc. Probably closer to £65 left at this stage. Hi @elsiepac, sorry I have been MIA for a while. I'll rejoin, if I may, in January thread but follow along for the remainder of December. Thank you for continuing the thread each month.7

Just added £65 for my market spend on Friday, on fish, cheese, meat, fruit & veg. We shouldn't need much else this week, until Thursday when I'll get the meat etc. for the coming week. Possibly sliced bread, milk & yogurt?

@ancientmum I only realised the Sainsbugs 25% off 6 wine offer applied to everything after I bought 6 bottles of their DOCG Prosecco because it was £10 reduced to £8 - with the extra 25% off we paid £6 a bottle for really good wine. Worth clubbing together with a neighbour or two if 6 is too many !!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

OH went to Mr S the other day and spent £16.39 and we received our A&C delivery today and only £7.42 went out of the grocery budget (halved the delivery between the food and gifts bought). So a total of £23.81 spent since last post.
OH may go to Mr S after he gets home so may have to update later, we shall see.
Next week comes our large Yule order from A&C and we are getting an O~box with a couple of add ons also. That will be an expensive week as I'm sure between the two that is £140 odd ekk.
£111.73/£300.
£188.27 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -

First chance I've had to sit down and tally receipts this month, I think the change in weather and time of year has made my brood 'hormonal', sat here with a cup of tea listening to them bicker over the bathroom - I'm determined to finish my brew though!£299.30/£600 spent with £200.70 leftMade the most of the L!dl £10 off £40 spend vouchers, 5 used so far with another to use before end of Wednesday. Also used a £10 L!dl+ reward voucher last week that I had from last months spend with another £12 to use before next Monday. It's meant I've been able to get more (including treats) for the foodbank. Christmas is all sorted aside from the veg which will get once the shops start reducing later this week or next week. I feel like I've missed something really obvious, am never this prepared.7
