@ talmansix :
you are very right with the links you send me but the tp-link prices are not showing, though i guessed the rough price by Tesco website. This is the best way to get around, rather the look for a brown neutral cable and connect it with the green cable in L1 and look got yellow cable etc etc etc....Gossh ! for dummies like me its like climbing the mount Everest, then hiking to mount K2 and the back down...hahahahahhaha....naaaahhhh..i will pass it this time. Hell lot of fuss and i think its time to screw my wall tough 3 gang socket back and buy some smart bulb. My is the same, i too have a lounge and its pitch black even if there are 4 suns shining at once, so in the hall way, 1 i put is a night motion sensor bulb and the other end of the hall way i have put a sound activated bulb. makes like so so much easier.
@flashg67 : smile: i must agree to you final idea and to @[Deleted User]
I guess this was a long long long journey and i sincerely thank you all, specially those who took part in any form of input in my thread.
Thanks once again.
Kind Regards and be safe.

If you don't even know what live and neutral are, throw it in the bin.
I'm struggling to see why a smart light switch needs to be or can be connected to the mains, unless it's a simple passthrough switch.
As this is not, throw it in the bin and buy some Hue bulbs that can be controlled from your phone, without the risk of you electrocuting yourself.0 -

What you want to do is so simple, Bulbs and smart plugs is all you need....Nothing complicated in the process. They are all plug and play with the corresponding app.
Best advice would be to go with TP-Link for both. Once you are confident with those there is nothing stopping you from using other (cheaper) makes along with them.

You need to start a new thread if you wish to ask another question that is totally unrelated to this thread...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
