     they told me that different manufacturers make different sizes.....  Surely this would cause confusion worldwide!!!   anyway they are refusing to send me a smaller size or refund any money as I have worn them even though they are not fit for purpose, can anybody help me?

    My Skechers trainers are a size 40.5. My New Balance trainers are a 42. Both fit the same.

    Sketchers have the most random sizing of any shoes or boots I've ever owned.  Normally I can order a pair of size 7 anything and they fit, but sketchers are madness.  I have a pair of ballet pumps by them in a 6, an almost identical pair of ballet pumps but they have a small heel in a 5, boots are 7.5 and trainers are a 6.

    I buy a lot of Sketchers and the sizing is mad, I only ever buy in store now as online I rarely have a hope of getting a good fit. I even have 2 pairs of wedge sandals the size style, one black one white and they are different sizes!

    I have a theory thats why the stores are always heaving because nobody can order them online 😂
  • With walking boots you should wear a thin pair of liner socks under your main socks to stop blisters. Bridgedale Coolmax are super comfortable but Mountain Warehouse do cheap own brand ones that are OK.
  • UK company?

    Did they provide the durable (email, paper) information regarding the right to cancel? If UK and they didn't then the right to cancel and return for a refund without deduction exists.
    Does this apply even if the items are now heavily used and clearly second hand?
    At what point are they deemed to be accepted ?

    At no point in time are goods accepted.

    A key difference in Cancellation regs over the old Distance Selling was allowing the retailer to reduce the refund for diminished value but in order to have that option the retailer must provide the consumer with the correct durable information relating to:

    where a right to cancel exists, the conditions, time limit and procedures for exercising that right in accordance with regulations 27 to 38;

    without this a deduction isn't permissible regardless of the extent to which the consumer has handled the goods.

    The cancellation period varies but can be as long as 1 year and 14 days after delivery, some companies effectively leave themselves open to allowing the consumer free long term hire of the goods.
