PAY WEEKLY LTD - issues

New here so be gentle....
I really need some advice, I don't know where to turn.
I had Pay weekly come in to give me a quote on landing/stairs and 1 bedroom which resulted in £500 bill. I was told that £30 was required of me that day (which i was not aware of when making the booking and felt like id been put on the spot) I was then told a further £15 would be taken from my account via DD before they could set up a date for fitting. I then was told that fitting fee in cash was required for the carpet fitter £150! Anyways they arrived hours late and when the guys arrived plainly told my partner and I "I'm self employed, I can turn up when I like" Not off to a great start. They fitted the carpets in 4 hours, after removing three doors and not replacing them, left their lunch rubbish everywhere in the bedroom, offcuts of carpet, grippers, underlay & glue discarded in the bedroom or in my front garden, threshold bars fitted with screw which looked like they'd been hammered in and bent!
On closer inspection of the carpets on my stairs I noticed that two places the carpet was cut incorrectly and didn't reach the skirting boards, the carpet wasn't fitted correctly on the stairs so that it meant its now rippling and bulging. The carpet was not fitted to the natural shape of each step (imagine P shape) so its now slipping.

I have small children, and can only imagine the dangers of not having it fitted correctly.

I approached Pay Weekly LTD who I pay weekly for the carpets who were already less than helpful when I emailed over pictures and my complaint to them only hours after the fitters leaving. I asked for a surveyor to be sent out to check out the shoddy work and have it rectified. A date was arranged for Weds 25th Nov - I waited in all day for no-one to arrive. I have emailed the company this morning threatening to contact HQ on Friday if I don't receive some type of communication from them but I honestly don't feel like I'm going to get anywhere with them.

My question is; has anyone else had issues with this company (yellow & red logo) and if so, how do I complain about self employed carpet fitters and to who. Pay weekly wont hand me over the fitters details so I cant get anywhere at the moment. I'm really frustrated that I'm left with a carpet that's not been fitted properly.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Fairly normal for the actual carpet fitters to be self employed contractors .

Are Pay Weekly the carpet suppliers ??

Pay Weekly have an unusual business model. They say:
You are entering into a hire agreement with us, and as such will never own a product that you hire from us. You acknowledge that we remain the owner of such products. You agree not to...dispose of them.
Whilst you are making the weekly payments the items remain our property which means you are free to return them at any time with no penalty, this is reassuring in these uncertain times. You only need to have made the payments for the time that you have had the goods.

    Their website says:

Once your payment date is sorted and your flooring is picked, you can sit back and relax as our team of professionals install your flooring.

    Yet their T&Cs say:

We do not fit the products. We act as agents for independent self-employed floorcoverings installers and can arrange for one of these to deliver and/or fit your purchase under a separate agreement between you and them.

Any fitting costs are payable in cash to the fitters on the day and do not form part of your agreement.

Doors may need to be trimmed to allow clearance over the carpet. This is not part of the standard fitting charge unless agreed in advance. Fitters may remove doors to facilitate fitting and have them ready for you or your appointed carpenter to carry out the trimming and re-hanging.

You ask if others have had issues with this company? Yes, quite a lot apparently.

The self-employed fitters are the people to whom you paid £150 and their details will be on the receipt for payment they gave you. Complain directly to them.
