Are you genuinely asking this? Its suggesting to the customer they HAVE to go on a fixed tarriff when you and I both know that is not the case.Thrugelmir said:

Because they are going out of their way to try to suggest to prospective customers that those expensive fixes are the only option. If they had the variable as the headline rate, and the fixes alongside with “or for certainty on what you are paying beyond next April, you could take one of these tariffs” it would be fine - they aren’t doing that though, they’re trying to mislead.Thrugelmir said:

You find your gas supplier at https://www.findmysupplier.energy/ Bear in mind that if it was Avro as apparently for electricity, then it has been changed to Octopus instead, no matter what the search says. My electricity has moved from Symbio to EON.Next on 3 October, but the "Who's my supplier?" web site still says Symbio.

When you do Exchange of Contracts on a new property (when buying a property, not relevant if renting), and you get to the last couple of weeks before Completion and you own the property, why not register with the supplier to the property you are moving into to tell them the date you are moving there and taking ownership of the meter, then that is one less job to do at the time; then on moving-in day phone them with meter readings. Isn't that better than writing to the supplier - if not, how long do people find it takes for the supplier to change over the details so you're not in limbo?
