My ex wife has just been given weeks to live
Her brave fight with breast cancer is all most over
She has been with virgin (ntl world) for over 30 years with out going any other provider
At the moment she is on a rolling contract paying £48 per month for basic board band and TV and she'has a discount of £20
The £20 discount ends on the 31 Dec 2021
Taking her monthly bill to £68 per month
I rang up virgin on her behalf to ask virgin if they could extended the discount for one more month as she is struggling with her bills because gas and electric bills going up and because of her condition she using alot more energy and benefits not covering the rises
The extra 1 month discount would cover for her last days of life and help her keep in connected on face time with her 6 grand children
But heartless virgin give the option of leave or pay the £68
OR TAKE OUT AN 18 MONTH CONTRACT AND WICH WILL LOWER THE PRICE TO £35 PER MONTH . BUT THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF £250 IF THE CONTRACT IS TERMINATED BEFORE THE CONTRACT END DATE
THE PPRICE OF LOYALTY WHICH OPTION SHOULD I PICK

Looking at this page https://www.virginmedia.com/help/billing-and-payments/change-account-holder#3
there seems to be a special phone number, 0800 952 2302, for when someone is critically ill.
Hopefully the people on that number are more helpful.
The other thought I had is that I think a contract automatically ends when one of the parties dies, and they can't charge someone in that case, but I can't find a definitive web page to prove that.
All the best in this difficult situation.1 -
@Gcoyney, I'm so very sorry to hear about your ex-wife's prognosis.
Thank you @Detail_Merchant for pointing out that number - that seems to be exactly what's needed.
Best of luck, @Gcoyney.0
