I think small spaces are easier to plant such as hanging baskets - so perhaps if I treat my garden as a series of small spaces that will work. All the structural plants are already in - it's underplanting I'm short of. My neighbour has offered me some free strawberry plants in spring. I will also try to grow stuff from seed ready for planting out from spring. I need to continue planting the bulbs I have.
I'm at the dentist this morning for a further bridge. This is the fitting appointment. I'll be pleased when it's done but the last one was painful for a couple of weeks due to the extra pressure on my gums where I have gaps. It will be worth it though.
I've sent another £125 off to savings.
It threw it down all night so I've put the heating on for a little while this morning to warm the house up a bit. Electric blankets will do the rest later. Need to finish getting dressed and get out asap. Then later I have my ADHD assessment. Plus working in between appointments and after.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I can understand the itchy feet and wanting to move, DH and I think about it sometimes. Moving locally until the children are older and then moving somewhere completely different later on.
Last time, we priced up how much it would cost to move (£45k in costs/fees alone!!) and what we'd gain from it (quieter location, but a smaller house!) and it stopped us in our tracks and we now appreciate this house more. We will still downsize when a couple of children move out though as it's very expensive to run and maintain.

Hi OhSh and skint
Cat's lying on a box next to me.
Itchy feet is definitely a thing. I think WD is right and it's easier to imagine starting afresh sometimes rather than dealing with historic issues of clutter etc.
I was confirmed as ADHD - but the conversation keeps playing in my head which isn't that helpful. He recommended another couple of books to read / listen to which I am but there are elements of them that are distressing. I might see if I can get an extra counselling appointment.
I was at the hairdressers yesterday - and with my new hair - and dental work - that feels good.
DD and I had a nice time at an outlet mall yesterday and went to the C coffee place. Chose gifts for my parents to give me that DD bought on their behalf. They'll send her the £. I bought a top for me for £16. I've pretty much abandoned my 'no buy' on clothes as it just isn't happening! Had the heating on part of yesterday and today as my house had got really cold even with an elec blanket.
Sis and family are coming over this afternoon. The works on their house are almost done except the kitchen which they've got a makeshift version for and the bathrooms which aren't being fitted for another couple of weeks. They have toilets but not showers or baths. They are going to come for an afternoon and use our bath and showers. I'll let the kids play with art stuff. Then feed everyone a roast dinner later.
Went to l1d1 last night and got loads of things at 30% off so was really happy. Still spent far too much overall though. I also bought some treats and soft drinks for xmas etc and some things to put in the freezer so I'm hoping it will balance out over the next couple of months. I left some of what I bought in the car as there was no room in my fridge - and still used DD's FF space for meat.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

How do you feel after being diagnosed? I've splurged on a couple of new tops as well. Hope you enjoy the family and art time.

Remember a diagnosis is just an organizing tool. It's like the Dewey decimal system in a library- it tells you where information is to be found.
A channel has popped up on my YT feed recently called How To ADHD, I don't know if you might find it interesting4 -
Thanks Lucielle and WD
I think the books he recommended were a problem rather than the diagnosis. I also listened to them too intensely and should take a break. I have watched lots of YT on the subject before so was sure I was - just wanted it confirmed.
I had a good time with my sis' family. Some of whom have similar diagnosis - and they'd been recommended very different books to read and were able to put some things in a better context for me which was helpful. Also nice to have good food and a warm house. They could really see the improvements I'd made in the house and complimented me on them which was nice. My sis wants me to give her one of my paintings for Christmas - for her new house. It's nice to think it will stay in the family. My BIL liked one of my faves best - one that makes me think of a magic spellcaster in a forest... The kids were very impressed with my new big painting that I'd made a few weeks ago. The psychiatrist also admired my paintings the other day. Always nice when people outside the family appreciate them.
I'd said to my sister to send the kids in old clothes but she forgot so we did less messy things that I would have done. It worked out. My nephew and BIL were very impressed on the garden progress as they'd come previously to help so were very aware of the 'before' picture. I've said they can come back if they need another shower/bath etc before their new bathroom is fitted.
There was a lot of meat left over from today - and given I already had chicken and gammon from when I cooked it a few days ago - I may need to freeze some. I've made some veg soup tonight too as I was almost out of the Mr A ones - and much cheaper making home made! I could add some of the chicken to the soup which would also be a tasty option. I was lucky yesterday as I got 2 chicken crowns for £2 each as well as similar meat and fish all reduced by a third.

I hope that when you have time and space to read some of the books your family recommended that you will find them helpful.Sounds like a lovely day with the family and it must be gratifying to know that they can see the progress you are making in the house and the garden.

Thanks Blackcats
Feel much better today. My favourite memory from yesterday was cuddling up with my squirmy nephew while he cuddled a stripey cat soft toy I have of the vivid pink and cream variety. He was so gorgeously warm too.
Yesterday felt like I was alive again so while tiring did me good.
I froze the leftover gammon and am currently rehearsing some roast dinner with extra parsnips.
I put the heating on for an hour today which puts the room I am in up to 15. Using electric blanket for rest of heat required. Yesterday my house was 18-20 and pretty much refused to go any higher regardless of how long it was on for. I had to change into short sleeves as I was way too hot!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
