Thank Jwil, @LadyWithAPlan and @Merlin's_beard
Well I lost 2.5lb at SW.
I'm not convinced the FF is any better. The fan was working earlier but now isn't. I'm going to have batch cooked chilli and jacket spud for tea. Storing it in the garage fridge for now.
The guy that put up the arbour has £100 day rate so I asked him to come back and clear what he can for a day in the garden and then see where we go from there. Hopefully he will dig out the bamboo and clear the weeds and lay some decent weed membrane. Potentially need to buy higher quality stuff than I have. He's also going to re-felt the shed roof where it needs it. He's also willing to sort the extractor fan connection, plane my en-suite door so it will shut and possibly do painting so could be a way forward. Will let you know how that goes. He's also willing to take down the tree I want gone and clear all the branches BIL cut down. Just need him to come back now. He sounds like he has a set of regulars and doesn't want too much more work...
The friend who is a handyman hasn't come back to me - but I will leave the stairs with him for now as that would be too complex for this guy.

What a lovely spot SH. Very fragrant next to the honeysuckle.

Merlin's_Beard said:I definitely have 'hoarder' tendencies - the fact that I've rented and moved a lot has controlled it to a degree (harder to justify keeping things when you're paying to move them), but even then it's tough not keeping things 'just in case'. Doesn't matter what it is - notes from school, an internet router from 15 years ago, the 5 tins of mushy peas that I might eat one day (I probably won't)
I only binned my uni notes from 30 years ago - last year... In the spirit of celebrating how far I've come - I'm really happy the loft is empty. My under-stairs cupboard now has room in it. Generally the trend in my house over recent years has been to empty it rather than fill it so it's a big improvement.
@LadyWithAPlan
Enjoy eating your way through their food and having a run of NSDs. You deserve it I'm sure with all the animal hassle. I think you said 14 animals or something like that!!! There's house sitting and house sitting - that's somewhere way beyond my comfort zone!! I do have a set of plastic drawers in the garage. If I can get to them I can potentially put some of my current surplus in them - if needed. I think all but 1 of 3 or 4 drawers is empty. This is symptomatic of me though - my storage is empty - but there's chaos in lots of unnecessary places... That's part of what I need to resolve!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Fortune, Dancing and MF
I am really happy with it. Yes it is right next to honeysuckle and a climbing pink rose on one side (and a cherry tree) and on the other side once the bamboo has gone I hope to plant something pretty too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Congratulations on the weightloss.
The day rate is good. Even if he can slot you in once a month it will all help.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Well done on the weight loss.
The seating looks lovely.
It's relieving to hear that other people hoard too. Sometimes I feel very alone in my hoarding.
