Thanks for the encouragement MF Jwil @WelshmansDaughter and Alchemilla
@WelshmansDaughter - that's a positive suggestion. I appreciate it.
Alchemilla - Becoming debt free took a weight off my shoulders. DD is contributing more. Pay rise and back pay is due in July. Should get something from P1P within the next couple of months too. We're getting the extra £400 towards energy bills in October - It's no longer a loan. If I get P1P I'll get an extra £150 on top towards energy. It all helps. I'm also more rested than I was as it's a new holiday year and proportionately I've had quite a lot of time off in the last quarter. When it's light and bright outside that helps lift my mood too.
I'm thinking for any new money I get in (after setting some aside to buy annual leave) - I potentially want to put a third to AVCs (to create £ for a future lump sum mortgage payment), a third to regular savers and a third to health / living / home improvements... My list for home includes:- Blackout blinds or shutters for my bedroom
- Fix stairs
- Lino or similar for new art room to be
- Potentially fit rails in bathrooms. Consider what other aids might improve my life. Perhaps pay an OT for advice
- Get quotes for a decorator - to improve the place, but also by having help reduce the risk of falls / injuries - and improve the quality of the work compared with me doing it! Certain parts of the house 'nag' at me as they need freshening up and haven't been done for 10+ years.
- Consider paying to have the rest of the tree BIL chopped removed - and possibly another.
- Consider paying for work in the garden - commando sockets, additional slate, bark, weed proof membrane etc, get wall toppers recemented on in back garden. Decide what to do with old pond area (now just weeds).
- I'd love permanent outdoor lighting
- I'd love a quiet but pretty water feature - preferably one with light. I have an old water feature - but it was predicated on there being a pond and working pipes to recirculate the water - and the pipes got broken and the pond liner perished. It's now a 'landscape feature' rather than something that works!
- Unlikely to be any time soon - but I'd love a gazebo or pergola. I love looking at the outdoors - but because of sensory processing issues - struggle with the reality of it - temperature control, bugs, frequent allergic reactions etc.
I could potentially ask the cleaner to help me with my clutter hotspots. She made a huge difference in helping me tackle my future art room. My garage is a cluttered mess - with lots of things I need to sell... mostly mistake purchases! My DD keeps nagging me to tackle it but it's in my too difficult basket. Every room still has too much stuff in it.
I have given away some things on Olio - and just left them outside to be collected. I think that could also help as it feels like you are giving to people who really want the things / are in need and I'm not wasting things.

When you get the PIP you could use some of the backdated money to get the cleaner to help you withy the clutter hotspots.

Hi SH, I’ve just caught up again! All sounding very positive over here. Well done on the weight loss. I’ve been considering a similar method but can’t get my dad’s voice out of my head telling me breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Glad your BIL came over to help you. You’ve inspired me to get some more decluttering done. Fingers crossed for your p1p decision soon.6

Thanks Beanie, @mark55man @WelshKitty85 @lucielle and @skint_spice
You know how I wanted to wear a mask... I didn't end up doing so... Guess what happened... Two red lines have now appeared! I just feel a sore throat and sniffly at the moment. Irritating though. DD wants to banish me to my room but she hugged me earlier and I gave her a lift yesterday - so if she's getting it - she probably already has... We've both had 3 vaccinations - so hopefully won't be too serious...
I may do an order from Mr As and get some more ice cream in. I'll see if DD wants to add stuff to an order as she had wanted me to take her shopping.
