MF on my stairs it's where there's a weird triangle bit. I wonder whether it's just that bit that needs replacing rather than the whole thing - although to be fair to BIL it felt like he practically rebuilt it he reinforced it so much last year.
@Humdinger1 on the axeman thing - he did tell me it had been very therapeutic. The first thing he did on arrival pretty much was get out his axe (wide eye stare)

Sounds like your BIL is great help, and has made loads of progress.
DD is being a bit cheeky and I agree with Chrystal. Maybe a smart meter so you can demonstrate her usage!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
Hi Savingholmes! You have been very busy indeed. You are making really good in-roads and you have to remember, you are spinning lots of plates too so little steps in the right direction soon add up, particularly when you are working on lots of areas at the same time.
Hope you got a good loss at SW tonight.5 -
Whether it's a bit of all, just do a like for like swap and you'll be fine.
Using an axe is fun, let's out all emotions, but required attention while doing it.
Good luck at SW.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
I agree with others about DD's energy consumption. I think you can get calculations on how much your oven would cost for an hour via your smart meter and similarly for tumble dryer etc and then keep a record of usage. A bit tedious but will help prove your point. Also, she needs to get into good habits for when she gets her own place - either she will then be responsible for the entire bill or her housemates will not be pleased at subsidising her usage.
your house, your rules! I know it's hard with our kids but she does need to understand that.7 -
Thanks jwil @Blackcats MF and @happihorse
Thanks again for the encouragement. I agree with you all - but I'm trying to be careful what I write given it's an online diary.
3lb off at SW so eating late afternoon onwards rather than almost non-stop throughout the day works... Who knew?Even using free food it was too much food overall. So 11lb so far. Let's hope I can get the same or better next week and then I'll be able to get my 1 stone award which would be nice. The awards do help. I'm trying to use DS's graduation as a target and hope to lose another half a stone by then (roughly 3 weeks).

Great weight loss. I find IF helpful for weight loss too. Do you notice it helping with inflammation (if you have that) too. I do.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
