And congratulations on passing the exam. I also struggle with multiple choice exams, I read the question, know the answer and then doubt myself when I read the options.
Lovely view, enjoy the time away.
I go away/get busy for a couple of weeks and you transform everything once again - exams, debts, holidays, and family visits!. no wonder you need a rest
that view looks beautiful - hope it tempts you into a few gentle walksI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I stayed at the cottage after getting here yesterday as I was shattered - by the exam, the late night working, the running around to get everything ready and the drive. It was narrow, single track roads for at least the last 4 miles and I couldn't face them again last night. Quite a few passing places though and I only had to reverse once (which I'm shocking at). I still can't get over the views. Apparently the cottage is in the middle of some kind of horseshoe pass - so the views from inside are stunning. Really glad I brought my elec blanket and a spare blanket with me as this place is cold. It only has storage heaters and they are pretty useless.
I had weird dreams last night about my ex-MIL, my DD when she was about 6, my nephews on that side of the family. I'm still grieving that she completely cut me off. It's doubly weird as Ex is insisting on staying integrated with my side of the family as we were married more years than we weren't. I think Ex is also missing me as he keeps making excuses to come in and have mini chats whereas earlier he avoided me. He's lost more weight - over 4st in total and it's hard not to worry about him as it's been so rapid. I hope he finds his own place soon as it can't be easy living with his mum. It's unsettling when I see him but my decision was right for me. When I look back - I don't even know how I ever coped with his level of noise. That's one of the many things that drove us apart in the end. It's why I came to the cottage alone even though it has 2 bedrooms - as I just wanted peace and quiet. No demands on me. Time for me. DS would love it here but DD would hate it. DS is lovely but super noisy too!!
I'm planning a few meals out like at my fave T&B cafe in Keswick and the odd chippy meal - but most of the time I hope to use what I brought with me so I don't spend £ on things that don't add to the experience. I brought food and drink with me. I brought some home frozen pre-cooked meals with me, as well as a YS cider chicken with potato thing. I also have chicken and bacon - everything stayed cool in the cool bag - the chicken had even started to freeze just by being next to frozen food!I need to buy eggs, pasta and potatoes - perhaps some frozen peas but other than that I'm pretty much set. One of the things I love about cottages - you can have a simple breakfast and then chose how much to eat in or out. Buying a meal for one is also a lot cheaper than for two etc.
If I get to shops this week - I may pick up some more art stuff (can never have enough!!!) and possibly some clothes. I'd rather spend on the latter than meals. I did a mini wardrobe audit before I came - I think the main thing I need is some form of summer leggings / trousers and summer weight tunics / dresses / longline short sleeved tops.
I've read diaries today so far, done a little sketching, written a little poetry, journalled and generally relaxed. I had to take the battery out the clock though as it's tick was hammering into my skull. Also finding the hum of the fridge very annoying. Ended up wearing noise cancelling headphones for a few hours this morning as it was too loud and I was feeling sensitive. Now though I can hear birds cheeping outside and lambs baaing so all is good. There are white puffy clouds but a gorgeous blue sky - but there's still a wind chill factor. Better than rain though and the weather forecast looks good for the time of year. I need to make myself get dressed and go out but still debating where to go!

Thanks @mark55man we cross posted earlier. I'm going to go for a carvery about half an hour away and then decide where to go next from there! It's lovely not to be rushing about and to be able to go with the flow!! I hope to get some walks in too - but will be sticking to the gentler type ones for sure as I only have trainers with me - although they are super prettyAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds perfect SH, the inspiration will flow through you.
Great idea taking food with you, I used to do that too.
Would opening the windows a crack let in more natural sounds to cover the manmade noise?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Is the power socket for the fridge accessible? I'd be tempted to switch it off if it's that annoying. Switch it back on when heading outside or to bed. It will perform better than the cool bag did 😎 Just try not to open the door too often.
