Issue with RAC breakdown cover

Hi all,
I currently have RAC breakdown cover on my car insurance, my car broke down near a car show room which I pulled into (the road is full of car show rooms and I didn't have a choice), I called the RAC who then charged me for recovery claiming that it was not covered by my insurance policy because the car was at a garage, I told them it was a car show room and not a garage, looking at the terms of the insurance policy it says "You are not if the car is at a garage or place of repair", I wouldn't call a car show room a place of repair.
Are the RAC right and I am not covered or should I fight this and try and get my money back. Any advice would be great.
Thanks

which car show room was it do you have the name and address we can then look and see if it is also a repair shop.0

Ask the dealership to put in writing they hadn't see the car. RAC cannot just assume it was at a garage just because you are near one, but if you can prove it wasn't then they are unlikely to then refuse.joshnator1 said:Hi all,

MG Charles Warner Outer Circle Road, Lincoln LN2 4LD
I had the car parked in front of the show room big glass window so if it did have a garage I didn't see it.0 -
Fairly obvious that it's a main dealer with workshop facilities and many other dealers within line of sight - what make is your car ?joshnator1 said:MG Charles Warner Outer Circle Road, Lincoln LN2 4LD

Google StreetView gets right up close and personal, 99.9% repair workshop at rear of premisesIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Vauxhall. The main dealer ship for Vauxhall is on the other side of the city according to the RAC recovery person.k3lvc said:

Google StreetView (Nov 2020) shows "Charles Warner Vauxhall Specialists" written above the doors of the building to the left of the showroomjoshnator1 said:

If it is at the rear wouldn't that class it on a different road from were the car was picked up from?lincroft1710 said:Google StreetView gets right up close and personal, 99.9% repair workshop at rear of premises0 -
That is a good point, I will contact them and ask if they can do that for me.visidigi said:

Sorry, but I think you are on to a loser and RAC are probably correct
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales3
