What else did you say in your appeal? Inadvertently identifying the driver (use of 'I' in an appeal can be a bad omen) in railway station cases generally, and with APCOA cases in particular is not recommended.schoolrunmum said:Received a penalty notice from APCOA for "non payment" at a railway station-except I did pay and it's on my bank statement- have appealed saying I did buy a ticket, anything else I need to do??Nevertheless, APCOA are litigiously benign (no private parking court cases ever reported here) and are unlikely to cause you any real problems. Have they formally rejected your appeal - please let us see exactly what you wrote - and have they provided you a POPLA verification code? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

have appealed saying I did buy a ticket,Oh no...you had 100% win nailed on for yourself as registered keeper and have thrown that in the bin.
Oh dear. Oh well! They are benign (never sue, to date) but you are likely in it for the long haul now, several tedious appeal stages. None of which were needed, had you come here first and appealed as per the NEWBIES thread, not saying who was driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oops! I figured open and shut case as I attached bank statement showing purchase of ticket on said day! I appealed saying I ought not be fined as I bought a valid ticket, and attached the statement....where did I go wrong lol??Debt-free...and staying that way...1

I only filed the appeal today, and they said to give them 35 days to reply . I had to get on it, as we got back from hols yesterday, and I opened the post from last 2 weeks today to find I had to appeal by tomorrow..Umkomaas said:

Rings a bell so I think you've posted on this forum before? If so, it's obvious where you went wrong (see NEWBIES thread). You had 100% slam dunk win, had you appealed as the keeper.
Pretty much NEVER appeal as driver to a private PCN unless you know what you are doing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No keeper liability , so as a keeper it would have been an easy appeal win based on the lawschoolrunmum said:Oops! Blabbing about who was driving killed off the no keeper liability aspect , so one less arrow in your quiver , your best arrow was broken due to not saying , no comment !! So you have a broken arrow and less chance of winning , instead of a 100% chance of winning using no keeper liability
Loose talk costs money !! Sometimes less is more3 -
Buying a ticket and proving that you had bought a ticket carries as much weigh in curt as admitting to driving imo.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Sorry, not sure what you mean?D_P_Dance said:Buying a ticket and proving that you had bought a ticket carries as much weigh in curt as admitting to driving imo.

Corrections as above, does it make more sense now? Since you have admitted to being the driver, there is no keeper liability protection from POFA and you might as well admit to being the driver IF you bought a ticket and can prove it. Being an admitted driver means you can be a first hand witness rather than trying to do it as keeper/not driver.schoolrunmum said:
