@Slithery probably one of the best Xmas ever - bit like when we had a power cut the morning the the Harvest Festival and lunch - much running round village to find people with gravity fed oil fired ranges to stick the food in and I cooked on a camping stove - power came back with 45 mins to spare before we served, brilliant day.1

Many years ago, I was as bonkers as Slithery's mum.
My dad died in March 1981 and my disabled mum moved in with me, my husband & 4 year old. I then got promotion, but we had to move over 200 miles away. We actually moved Dec 21st, one of the coldest days in one of the coldest winters on record. My then in-laws joined us on 23rd for Christmas.
It was one of the best Christmas's ever. Still surrounded by boxes, but no high expectations and we managed to get a tree locally, which went up on Christmas Eve, as we'd always done since my son was born. But then, I was much much younger, and nothing phased me

We completed our sale mid December last year and moved into an AirBnB for 6 weeks. Christmas didn't cause any problems but moving out of the AirBnB was awkward as our man and van let us down twice.1
