If the 1810 was never offered as a warehouse deal, how can you know what price it would have been offered at?

You've already said that the normal Amazon price for it is £285, so you've already got an £85 discount anyway. :)
It would have been offered at a price lower than the price of a brand new one, that’s for sure- I have a returned, open box product. I’m stuck as I’ve got a product I didn’t want and, without the discount, would have paid more for it.

seemingly I have no rights to get what was advertised or to use that as credit with the discount still honoured to upgrade to a brand new model. All I want is the advertised product using the discount that was offered that weekend- a discount I only knew about because it was promoted by MSE. Amazon have made a mistake and won’t compensate me in anyway other than get my money back or to have a product that I paid for with less discount than was available that weekend… I just want the model that I believed I entered into a contract to purchase.
You have no *right* to that, no.   You have a right to the item you ordered OR a refund - Amazon get to choose, and they've chosen refund.

Consumer rights legislation doesn't cover lost opportunities.
And I guess that in reality, there isn’t even a list opportunity, as had the item been described as an 1810, the OP wouldn’t have bought it (as it isn’t what they wanted) and there wouldn’t have been a 1824 listed and so wouldn’t have been able to buy that either.

I think your muddying the waters here by keeping on about getting the original product when amazon warehouse clearly don't have it and never had it and they incorrectly labelled the one they sent you.

What you need to say is something like:

    "Dear Amazon,

I was given a 30% voucher to use on any product and chose this one but now i have found out that it was the wrong one as it was incorrectly labelled by you. I would like to return this for a full refund.

But as a gesture of goodwill would you be able to allow me to use the 30% off voucher on a brand new version of this product as i would still like to purchase it.

    Best Regards"

You need to focus on their goodwill letting you use the 30% off voucher rather than keeping on about how you beleive it's your right to get the original product when that cannot happen.

Not the original - but the OP could potentially have used the 30% off on the 1810 which would have made it cheaper.  Essentially - due to Amazon's mistake they got less of a discount than they could have done.  But unless the course of action suggested by RogerBareford bears fruit there isn't much that can be done about that.
