The last time I looked at the clock it was 20 to 4. After that I eventually went to sleep and had weird dreams about school and my German A level - both of 1978 vintage!!!
Woke up at 10 to 8. I'm up, my bed is made, and I'm savouring my (long anticipated) first brew 😊
There's a covering of snow and a clear sky with sunshine - so I think it's snowed and then frozen, but I've not ventured outside to test my theory.
I went to see Pops yesterday afternoon- and he casually told me how he'd fallen in the garden, banged his bad leg on an edging stone, thought he'd broken it again, laid in the floor for a while, then crawled to the front wall so he could pull himself up. When was this? Oh, 4 or 5 weeks ago now. He's got lots of Christmas meals and trips out booked over the next month including a New Year's Eve bash complete with haggis and piper, , and 🤞flies out to Benidorm for 2 months on 11th Jan. He'll be 87 on 4th Jan!!
In the meantime I was breathless after walking round the corner to his house. It's been coming on slowly but walking into the wind yesterday was the clincher. I don't know if it's my weight - I've piled on the pounds (stones😱) this last year or an underlying condition. I suspect the former, so I'm starting my new year challenges early: healthy eating (slinky22) combined with moving more - which can include more flying (H2H22). And I'm not starting on Wednesday (1st Dec) - oh I do love a 1st for starting things - I'm starting today. (Giving yourself a scare is a good motivator!)
Join me when you're ready, or cheer me on from the sidelines please.
Sorry to waffle on. I hope you are all hunkered down, warm and cosy.
Morning all, I’m cheering you on, Round, can you hear me? 😘. I too have noticed that I am more breathless than I should be when I occasionally go out walking, and have definitely piled on the pounds in the past year. Especially when it is a walk that only a few years ago I used to run. Occasionally is the critical word - what with working more, and (let’s be honest here) embracing my natural slothness, exercise is always well down my list. Heavens, even the tax return gets done before exercise!! I know from past experience though that I am definitely a September resolution person. However slobbing here looking at the thick dust in the LR, I think that I simply need to pull my flylady socks up. They seem to be dragging down my ankles atm. So today for starters: put dinner into sc. We will have to run DD back at some point today, so this might turn into dinner for another day, but at least it will be cooked. HHI dust LR. Maybe vacuum as well. open new curtains from packaging and hope they look ok S&S bathrooms. Another lax point 😳 Oh and report back, because it is being accountableand supportedon here that keeps me keeping on.
I hope you are all safe and warm. I watched the meter costs rise higher and higher yesterday. Scary sight. Love and hugs to all xx
Fayolle - I'm usually a September resolution person - my birthday being the 1st, but here we are nearly in December and I'm still heading rapidly in the wrong direction. It's the weirdest time to start but here beginneth the 28th November resolutions 😊. I'll start now, go for damage limitation over the festive season and hope to start 2022 weighing less than I weigh now. Glad to have you cheering me on 😊
Brew 2 has been supped and breakfast eaten. I've also deleted a number of emails and emptied the trash can on there.
Round 1 Get dressed Laundry shuffle Feed the birds Put out the recycling Put away LTD pots WUDUPA a bowl of pots
My update. I have done dailies, s&sd bathrooms, scrubbed kitchen sink, put clothes away off airer, dusted living room, done some knitting, done some puzzles, tidied my eyebrows.
I've bought a reindeer and a pikachu.. build-a-bear sale.. I was getting them anyway but cheaper is better!!
I received a survey regardin anti-social behaviour in our constituency from the local MP a while back, yesterdya I received an update being that the police reports of criminal activity are much lower than the responses she received from her survey indicating many many incidences go unreported. So, I felt the need to reply to this.. I said people don't report for a number of reasonos, mainy the belief nthing will b done and as the recent event with my mother and moomin indicate that opinion is correct. She asked for the log number for bth crimes and said she will chase them.. I did say the officers dealing with the incidences and taking statements were lovely both times but the follow up is non-existent. We will see where that goes.
I loaded the DW while my cuppa made..
OH replaced the washers in the hand basin waste so that has stopped leaking everywhere thank goodness.
Lunch for pinks and then I need to sort Squeaks lessons for next week.
Iona.. belated birthday merries!
Round.. Pops is very naughty!!
Skint.. nice to see you I hope you are all well xx
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone Skinty: it's sooooooooo lovely to have you back with us !!!!!!
Sorry about your lack of sleep, round. I did the same yesterday, which meant that my birthday was not the best I've ever had (I felt cold all day). But I fell into bed at 10.15 last night and slept until 6.45 this morning, so I've begin to make up for it, and today has started far better than yesterday, apart from the fact that DH has reacted badly to the shingles jab that we both had on Friday, and is now sporting a ghastly rash. Oh well, back to the GP tomorrow, then.
I did all the housework yesterday before putting up my birthday cards, and I've been shopping on my way home from church this morning, so today's main job will be to put rest of the "normal" food away - the frozen and chilled bits are already done.
Thank you everyone for your messages of welcome...I feel like a naughty school girl who has been bunking off all term and is turning up to for the Christmas Disco!
I have moved house recently so I have a colony of frogs who won't stop ribbiting, plus it seems like a never ending stream of workmen making dust and mess...Once done I can finish moving my stuff out of storage! But realistically I think that will be in the New Year now.
But its time to make some progress!
I might make a quiet start tonight once the new list goes up.

Rosie's walk first, though.
