PS Thanks Ruby!12 -
Hi everyone and happy birthday Hester,
A disappointment yesterday, we went to a pub that we haven't been to since lockdown for lunch looking forward to their outstanding steak pie only to find the chef has changed. It was still good but didn't have the delicious pastry it used to have. We've booked lunch today in a place that has always served delicious very generous portions at a reasonable price so I hope that hasn't changed.
Steve finished the diy jobs around the house yesterday and we visited the local cheese shop, after a big lunch we just had cheese and biscuits for supper. This has been a very food orientated post but my excuse is the fact that we hardly ever eat out now.
I'm still continuing to make my felt Twelve days of Christmas, I've just made a swan so only 5 left to do. I decided not to bring the sewing up here in favour of cutting out the pieces for the remaining figures.
Nelski, take it easy. Gers, that describes my days for the past couple of weeks, hopefully I'll be able to do a bit more when we get home. Taff, I know what a weight off it is when the house is sold. Ruby, don't work too hard next week.
Have a good day and best wishes to all the poorlies and their carers.14 -
Happy birthday Hester have a good one!! Xx
Thanks for the reminder Ruby! Enjoy your shopping trip. I'm a poor shopper too I expect to get everything in the first shop before throwing in the towel !! Xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning everyone
I didn't have a very good night last night as I kept waking up drenched in sweat but when I actually got up and had a cup of tea I felt a bit better. My chest is very tight and all my muscles ache so it's a bit like having flu but definitely survivable. I am very grateful that I am vaccinated though as it would be a different story otherwise.
Today is Stir up Sunday and I planned to make my first ever Christmas cake but I will postpone it now until I am not so germy. I have all the ingredients already so it will be an easy job when I am better.
Steve has put a turkey leg and thigh into the slowcooker and we are going to have a curry for dinner as neither of us fancied a roast. There should be plenty of meat left to make some sandwiches as I have bought some sage and onion flavoured mayonnaise that I wanted to try.
Right, I need to go and have a lie down for a bit so I will love you and leave you. Take care all and a very Happy Birthday to Hester xx

Morning. Hugs if you need one. Happy Birthday Hester. Nelski- we were caught yesterday watching Mary Poppins.........its years since I first saw it with my children.......timeless......I had forgotten that Michelle Dotrices sister Karen was in it.
Bright but cold morning, I had to venture out in my nighty to the outside freezer for the croissant for breakfast, I forgot I had put them out there when the kitchen freezer was rammed. It is slowly going down, will not ne really clear until after Christmas. I have one drawer full of frozen fruit, found some more in the kitchen freezer this morning, so it will be going out shortly.
I am fuming, have been looking for a new tablet, decided on a Samsung 7 on Amazon, this morning an advert came up for the self same tablet £90 cheaper on another site....I have gone into Amazon and cancelled the order waiting for an email to confirm it has been cancelled before ordering from the other site.
DB's eye is progressing, I will be glad when the 4 weeks is up and I no longer have to set the alarm to put his drops in. He is still banned from bending forward and reaching up above his head.
No plans really for the day, might start writing my Christmas cards, I also need to ring B and see if she needs any shopping tomorrow when I go in to see her. A is away on holiday for a week.
Freezer dive procured pork steaks, so roast spuds, carrots and green beans. I have plums for a plum and ginger crumble for dessert with HM custard.9 -
Just popped in to wish a happy birthday to Hester 🥳🎂🎉9

Happy Birthday Hester - hope that the cafe was open for your cooked breakfast.I've overcame my inertia briefly, stripped my bed and got all the linen in the machine. It seemed bad to 'miss' this sunny day for drying as the forecast for the rest of the week is not good. Once it's hung out I'll go back upstairs to put the clean linen on the bed.
