Good morning, it's a wet start here, may brighten later I suppose.I didn't get to post yesterday, but was pleased to see Nelski back and posting, you'll be so glad to be home Nels.We went to Du*elm yesterday, and I bought a duvet cover, not the one I'd planned to though. When I saw it in the flesh it looked a bit nondescript, but DH found another one which we liked so bought that.Did a bit of shopping as well. then was home for the rest of the day, doing various jobs,Plans for today are delivering Dils birthday card and present for tomorrow, and ordering a few things for Christmas, There's always the usual household jobs of course, but i can whizz through them. Also I want to do a bit of preparation for the lavender bags that dgd and I are planning to make tomorrow when she's here after school.Hope everyone has a good day. Dumpling, sorry to read that you've got Covid, hope you don't have it badly.Thinking of our other poorly people and those struggling with life generally.Take care folks14

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. At the risk of making the other insomniacs jealous I actually had a decent night's sleep last night after a string of rubbish ones. Will pay for it tonight when counting sheep starts again!
Crikey they were right and the temps have plummeted this morning. Last week in double figures and today a high of 6 deg forecast but at least we are promised sun.
I got some cottage pie base out of the freezer for lunch and, for a change, I think I will top it with carrot and swede mash. I still have a few bags I made in the freezer. Due to extreme tiredness after my no sleep night not a lot got done yesterday so must address a few neglected jobs this morning. The ironing still awaits but there's no rush for that! Maybe more gift searching on the net this afternoon as I seem to have ground to a stop with that!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and convalescents. Take care one and all and be safe. xx

Morning All
What a lovely surprise to see you posting Nelski, hope you are all settled in at home and have booked another supermarket delivery! What a lovely friend you have in Ruby.
It's a beautiful morning but mighty cold, the sun is about to rise so the bedding can go out for a while. I put what was left of yesterday's washing on a rack in the living room last night as the fire was still going, it's all dry this morning. Only one thing to iron, not sure I can be bothered!
I've finished the kitchen cleaning this morning as I woke up at silly o'clock, all the drawers are now clean and sorted. I seem to have bought a lot of kitchen foil, there are 4 rolls but at least they won't go off.
Going to Glasgow today with DD and the little one, hope she doesn't need a lot as I get a bit stressed after about 3 shops. I only need new socks so that won't take long. I'll call into the SM on the way home to stock up for the week.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX

Morning folks. It's f-f-f-freezing cold here too. Alexa tells me that it's only 3° outside, the sky is bright baby pink, beautiful but a worry. My beloved cousin sent me a text saying how he hates this grey and dismal time, we decided that being in Madeira, the Canaries or Puerto Rica would be much better. 🌞 There's still time. ☀️After my early morning shopping trip yesterday passed in a slew of TV watching. Firstly I caught up with two episodes of Dalgliesh, next came The Third Man, then Mary Poppins and finally SCD. Hugely slothful of me though also hugely enjoyable.Today my delight will come from Dr. Who this evening. Before that, I don't know. There's not enough in the WM to justify a washing and I whizzed briefly round the living with vacuum yesterday, that only took me a couple of minutes.I hope that everyone is warm, well and taking care of themselves. Happy Sunday to all.14

Happy Sunday everyone
Brrrrr it’s a bit chilly on the extremities today. This calls for extra thick gloves. Great sleep last night the longest Ive had in ages. Strikes me that the 2 vital elements of recovery are sleep and good food neither of which you get in hospital
Had a gentle day yesterday and like Gers watched Mary Poppins singing at every opportunity.
In the end opted for the leftover bacon and mushroom pasta from Friday with some extra cheese and garlic bread so head will be stuck in the freezer soon to sort dinner
Had a few amazon deliveries including a years worth of magnesium supplements that should sort out any depletion hopefully. I did manage to throw them over the floor though trying to open them… I frustrate myself so much sometimes.
Plans for the day are non existent but will likely involve plenty of couch and some cooking programmes involving easy on the eye chefs
Have a chilled day all and thanks again for all your thoughts

Morning everyone, hugs and healing thoughts to all poorlies, I hope today is the one when you all start improving and are back to full health very soon.
Its a lovely sunny morning with sunshine arriving with sunrise today which is lovely but oh so cold but not quite cold enough for frost but still as shock after past weeks far warmer days.
Today I plan to dive into chest freezer, after going out and doing some garden tidying as so nice out there - leaves mainly as a couple of weeks since swept them up and put them in to rot down, as it's become a rather bad habit lately that we have fresh food from fridge and just the latest frozen stuff that has been bought recently and placed (squeezed into chest freezer) yet never going below that top layer and the freezer is so full I have to put four heavy 5 lt bottles of water on top of it to ensure it closes when I place new things in it.
So, I want to go in and see exactly what we have instead of just buying things and using them. Problem will be getting it all back into the freezer again but hopefully taking a few things out to cook for coming week will give enough room to ensure everything else goes back in.
Have a good day everyone and stay warm xxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Brrrrr very cold here but bright and there is a bitter wind blowing such a change from recent weather, will have to get the big coats out today.
DD and I are off Christmas shopping and lunch out dd is driving so I may have a glass of wine with lunch to fortify myself, I hate shopping at the best of times and im sure it will be busy today, I hope to get all the stocking fillers done today.
OH is staying here and will walk the dogs and then make a chilli for dinner so no cooking for me
There is a wash on the go which can be hung out for a while, the fire will be lit tonight for a cosy evening.
Nels its so lovely to see you posting xxx
Have good days all xxx12
