Vaillant, Worcester-Bosch, Viessmann boilers

Which company makes reliable boilers these days?

I've heard that the quality and reliability of Vaillant boilers have dropped.

Is it worth paying the extra for Viessmann?

Had our viessman for nearly thirteen years now, had to have the pressure vessel replaced twice so far, but when it requires replacing, it will be another viessman
  • A neighbour is an independant gas fitter, so we asked him which boiler he recommended.  He immediately said 'Vaillant'.

I'm certain there are big incentives for Gas Safe engineers to install Vaillants.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.
  • I know someone who fits all kinds of boiler's...he says all of the above are good along with "Ideal" who also have cheaper parts if something goes wrong.

I’ve spoken to a few plumbers who aren’t that impressed with WB, but it’s the same as cars really, people will have good and bad experiences with some makes of car, others will have absolutely no problems, I think if you get a boiler with a long warranty, then that’s the way to go…

The reason my Vaiilant engineer moved from Worcester was because Vaillant didn't offer incentives for him to fit them.

Over the years he saw Worcester quality reduce, but the incentives increase and he didn't want to be part of it.

I know a plumber that fits WB the incentives they get I was perhaps naively surprised with. Him and his wife have have had some incredible all expenses included trips

That could be said for just about every major brand of boiler.

I've had Vallant boilers for years now in the various properties I've owned & never had a problem with any of them.  They were regularly serviced each year.  My current boiler is coming up for 9yrs old now, recently had it serviced & engineer said it's in excellent condition.

So for me, because I've never had a problem with any Vaillant over the years, they will continue to be my preferred choice.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

TBH, they're all a pretty much safe bet. I'd go for whichever gets you the best/longest warranty and is easier to get serviced.
