The share certificate is now in my name, I have it.
This is a one off sale.
Can anyone recommend a reliable broker who will selll them at a fixed rate either online or by phone, please?
It was done through Equiniti who charge about 2%.
I could not find anything via online search.
Suggestions would be much appreciated,
Also, I am curious, why is the price of the shares on the certificate? As prices change by the minute
Many thanks

Open an account with XO. (Not an ISA)
Send them your share certificate.
Sell for fixed fee of £5.95
Withdraw your cash.
The value shown on your share certificate is a nominal amount and is of no great significance.2 -

As above and remember to close the account when no longer required.

Why close, when there's no cost to keep it open?Alexland said:https://www.x-o.co.uk/nominee-account.html

Thanks.
You both wouldn't recommend them unless they were a bona fide company.0 -
Thanks again!
You might consider seeing another post I just made re a related matter....

I've used them to sell employee shares, privatisation shares and inherited shares. It's a basic, no-frills service, but it's cheap and it works. I read your other query about dividends but can't help there, sorry.dee100 said:Thanks.

Yes. Do it in three steps. Open an account with x-o (Jarvis) - other brokers are available. Fill in the CREST form and send them the certificate. Sell the shares after they appear in your online account.
An alternative is to use a broker who provides certificated share dealing. There are a few but I am not aware of any that charge less than £25 per trade.0 -
i'm in a similar situation to the OP in that i inherited shares (a few years ago). My shares are in 5 companies but each share holding is only a few shares in each company i.e 20 to 50 shares with a total value of roughly £700.
I set up an Equiniti Shareview account a while back and i can see all the different shares listed in one place (3 are listed as "Corporate Sponsored Nominee" and 2 share holdings are "Shares")
I've just taken alook at the Equinity Shareview website and they charge minimum £45 for online selling.
Can i move these shares to X-O or do i have to stay with Equiniti?
if i can move them can someone explain the process please? ((i've got no interest in these shares, there just sat with Equiniti).
I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0
