I'm not sure how the video evidence won't be compelling, the TV refuses to react to anything such as remote etc, it's recorded showing this... I believe the video shows beyond doubt that the TV fault was there on manufacture. Engineer coming back next week to look at it but this will be a second attempt then I will contact store again
Because it would be very easy to fake e.g. take the batteries out of the remote - hey presto, the TV doesn't respond.  Or just don't press the buttons hard enough - hey presto TV doesn't respond.   A video of something *happening* is compelling - e.g. picture defects, sparks flying out of the back.   A video of something *not happening* less so.
Well in this case it is the TV switching off and on again.  Not particularly difficult with the remote off-screen or using a different remote with the normal remote in the picture.

I understand that, but from my understanding of I can prove the fault was there prior to 6 months them it should be deemed to be there from manufacturer
If the goods do not conform to the contract after one repair the consumer may exercise their final right to reject but there is the right for the trader to reduce the refund except if the final right to reject is exercised within the first 6 months.

A deduction after 7 months should be relatively minimal.

    www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/24/enacted

Right to price reduction or final right to reject

(8)If the consumer exercises the final right to reject, any refund to the consumer may be reduced by a deduction for use, to take account of the use the consumer has had of the goods in the period since they were delivered, but this is subject to subsections (9) and (10).

(9)No deduction may be made to take account of use in any period when the consumer had the goods only because the trader failed to collect them at an agreed time.

(10)No deduction may be made if the final right to reject is exercised in the first 6 months (see subsection (11)),

Have a look at AV forums before buying .
Sony LG and Samsung may be good overall , but individual models may not be as good .

Comes down to individual models and what technology you want... if its OLED then Samsung is a non-starter as they dont offer it.

Once you've narrowed it down to some models I'd echo the comment above that the AVForums can be a good place to look but they tend to focus more on the mid-high range models and so info may be a little light if you're aiming below that.
